My N15 5-door GTi Build...

I read and watch this topic form first page to the last now...and all i can say is WOW, really like your Almera.

Right just to get this back up to date for 2014!
Wanted to change the setup a little, got the car in the garage for some loving:

Fitted a new Subframe with Locking Collars, a GTi steering rack with Poly Bushes, and new Wishbones with Poly Bushes so she is feeling fresh and tight as ever!!

Got offered a few Turbo parts so thought why not....
Turbo Technics Hybrid Turbo, new gaskets fitted:

Fuel System - SARD FPR & Rail Adapter, Subaru 440cc Injectors, Walbro Fuel Pump:

Clutchmasters Clutch:

Built it all up:

The above setup ran well for a few weeks on my Greddy Emanage, until it started losing coolant so I thought the Gasket was probably toast.
So I took the head off:

And found that it had detonated a piston and the block on cylinder #4!:

New Oil block for Gauge and Turbo Feeds - Cheers Guy! :

And this was how the second turbo setup looked, neat!:

This one ran awesome, until this happened:

So I swapped my Quaife LSD into a P11-144 Gearbox:

The engine was a bit noisy so I checked out a rod bearing and found this:

LUCKY!! The crank was OK so I changed the bearings and it was all good.

I then thought it was now or never to dyno this setup - while it was working!

Unfortunatelty for reasons that we didnt know at the time, after a few abandoned runs on the dyno, it started misfiring so I took it home and put it back in the garage:

Took the engine back out to see what had occurred:

To my horror I found this:

#4 Piston was Melted through.
END OF SETUP 2.

SETUP 3 WAS COMPLETE - and I wasn't taking any chances this time.
So after fixing a few water leaks and an oil pump issue, I ran ~150 miles off boost on mineral oil, changed to semi synthetic then I headed straight to Spykes to have it looked over and the timing and map checked fully - which is where we discovered that one Injector was faulty. BINGO.
We changed it and the car seemed all good.

The day after the car was checked over was shakeys, I was reluctant to race the car so early but gave it a few runs anyway.

After a few shitty runs and a few boost hose issues, I came away with this time:

Plenty to improve on so Bring on the 12's next year!!!

THANKS GO TO THIS GUY: (and Guy for oil block, and Pulsar Dave and Dean for midnight mapping help)
