Better keep a bit of life in this thread. Currently waiting on wishbone poly bushes, within 2 weeks ordering the anti roll bar poly kit and the rear axle poly bush kit.

VZR mudflaps, bulge indicators (only sprayed the inards of one black so far), steering rack poly mounts:

Beginnings of smoothing out the side repeater and derust
Rust removed:

Mesh welded to the back of the hole to give s backing for the fibre glass and filler:

Very nice work there my son. I'm glad you kept the globes in the indicators, IMO the bulged ones look great with the black and orange. Where did you order your poly bushes from btw? Mine are due replacement.

what i didnt know was the whole corner unit is different, not just the lense, the silver is set further back from the bulge in order to let light travel down there if you get me? also in order to make the bulges flash orange the globes have to be left in as the globes are longer and have "cuts" in the side in order to send light backwards into the bulge.

Going to love summer, workin flat out on the car once ive got all the parts. change the bushes, fit gti rear axle, engine overhaul, coilovers. posponing the sprayjob and gotta get the rear sway bar and lower front brace.

trying a few things at the moment. Might leave the gti kit off until i can afford the respray, ill be pushing it to get everything else done by august next year as ive decided to save seriously for a house now lol

im still going to gather all the parts i need for turbo as it will happen one day but as for august 2009, no lol, im expecting insurance to be about 4-5k!!!

Wishbone bushes arrived today, very stiff and naturally lubricant was supplied

Also tommo inspired me so i had a go at making an alum engine mount, just gotta smooth some edges and its done

got 2 new wishbones the other week too, non rusty and fresh ball joints.

Bit extra smoothing on the wing, although going to need a lot more work than first expected as the welding has distorted the wing slightly as can be seen with the high spots where the paint has been sanded down at the bottom right corner of the area:

woah sis took car out tonight and i forgot how punchy the car is for a 1.6 hehe although its pretty lifeless untill atleast 4500rpm then pulls hard to the limiter.

i cant tell if the ally engine mount has made any difference from the poly inserted mount.
