N16 DCi-R

drool

I just signed up to the Malaysian N16 club forum. Wow they've got loads on there. Including someone who can make CF bonnets for RM1,800 which is only £287!

I must have one of these to go with my grille ;)

165bhp remap ;) 150 is the Di p1 engine remap :)

Well that would surely be a hell of a title to have if it is tommo! Still doesnt come close to what the Aus and Malaysian N16 crew do though.

in all fairness, what companies have played N16 in the uk though? in my eyes yourself, steve, stu (n16sport) and shakey have done well as you are the only people to have a good go at an N16. remember there far more popular in aus and malaysia...

New smaller badge, classic nissan style. Thought it looked better lower down in line with the top of the grille. Admittedly I've shopped out the holes for the photos though
I doubt I'll get them filled in before JAE but I'll try.

Lookin good with the little badge. Cheat0r photosh0p!

I boughted a smaller badge and it didn't cover the holes. Much disappointment :(

Will get it done properly sometime but blah not too bothered.

Ed - You know I love your car. Please do not break it by pushing the remap too far. The p2 diesel engines are absolute shite and the turbos seem to be made from butter. Was speaking to Stu (n16sport) who works for a franchised nissan garage and the stories he could tell about the p2 diesel engine would most likely shock you and that's standard.

I would only go for a 150 remap, and even then, make sure I had enough money lying around for a turbo if required.

p.s. what you got your cupra r splitter fixed to / how's it fixed? I bought one MONTHS AGO (before you did :P) but not quite worked out how to fit it :)

Yeah I've heard about turbos blwoing up etc. I heard it was from the wrong boost signal being sent by the ECU, which was fixed in a recall (fixed on mine now), but not sure how final a fix that is. I'd like to upgrade my turbo anyway for both this reason and for more power. I'm such a novice though and will prob need a local specialist to help me... which means more money :/ I've contacted a few people in my area but all seem to not be interested by it being diesel :( Someone must be able to help. Trouble is about 90% of the companies out there seem to specialise in VAG tuning.

Is it 'Almeradci' on here that has a tuning box? Not sure he's had any problems and he's running 165bhp.

Splitter is fixed to the bottom of the bumper with sell tapping screws. Nice and easy!

Cheers I'll throw them an email.

What about remanufacturing the turbo at somewhere like turbo technics?

deffo an option, otherwise ill have a word in steve at silverlines shell like and we'll hook you up with a link G4 storm and a GT35/40R  let me hear you say... LAGGY :D :D :D

about 20 seconds laggy! just been nosing around and a GT2056V which is used in Navara D40 would be a good size. It's VNT like mine and only slightly bigger (OEM GT1849V) so lag wouldnt be affected too much. I would need either a fabricated manifold or fabricated bracket to fit the new turbo to the manifold as the mounting point is different. Also there would be custom IC piping too as the outlet is in a different place. A trip to Forge motorsport and I might be able to get what I need. Somewhere closer would be good though.

I'm hoping cost wise it's not going to be stupid amounts. I'd be willing to spend £500 I guess on turbo, fabrication and piping... maybe I'm asking a lot. Turbo could be from a broken Navara rather than new.

Leigh (th3k3ymast3r), do you get anything made local?

I could always get one of these :D BMW derv power!

car looking very cool love the front splitter I got one for my primera but never fitted it so think it'll go on the N16...

Not sure if you need the bigger turbo, the remap on mine took it to around 150BHP and that make it pretty rapid.....

I would be very careful with the Phase2 engine if its the same one that goes into the primera a lot of people on NPOC have had problems with that engine especially with the turbos

I think the common theme here is turbo=shite. A manufactured turbo to give it higher tolerances should do the trick. Then I can remap away. However a bigger turbo could get me closer to that magical 200bhp ;)

Been painting, polishing and cleaning the car inside and out tonight for JAE. Cleaned the MAF with halfords brake cleaner and then went for a drive. Actually made a slight difference :)

WOW! Now that`s how Nissan should`ve done it in the fist place!

Very P11-esque (not a bad thing), but also  as fook!

 from me!

EDIT: Maybe bring the grilles up about an inch & rotate them sligthly, so they`re in line with the edges above the lights, & it`ll be spot on. ;)
