N16 SR20DE

Tasty. I assume that's the KY5 in use? :)

Edit: So I see, I missed that line. Looks amazing dude. Hrm... KY5 my engine cover?!

Been told it needs to be gone by the end of the month so I've got to strip the last bits out and organise pick up :(

Aww man :( Don't worry, the black one will be better when you're done with it!! Have you made that hybrid front bumper yet?

Nope. Not finished. Done a bit more since the photos but I know I won't be getting it painted until like March now. No point before with all the crap on the roads. Going to be a painful wait as the car performance wise is at a point where I can comfortably stop for a while, so money will be burning a hole in my pocket until then (taxes allowing).

Fair point. But just think if you save until march you'd probably have enough for a full blowover. That along with the power, JDM grille/bonnet, VZR skirts and custom front bumper and it'll be one hell of a machine! Just in time for show season too

Ah but I'm moving house, getting my own place next year so can't splurge on car! Will have to see how well work goes in 2012.

Today I have fitted PAS bracket & pump, water pump pulley, PAS belt and alternator belt. Put new driveshaft seals in the box, fitted good CVs to the driveshafts and new CV boots*/grease.

*Thought it was going to be a disaster again this weekend. Bought some Shaftec Automotive boot kits only to find the boots are about 8-10mm too big in diameter on the hub side. Phoned up the motorfactors to check if the kit I had was correct part number and it was :S No other alternatives listed either. So I prepared for worst while the guy phoned the manufacturer. Meanwhile I phone Nissan :( £40+VAT EACH!!!!!!!! And they couldn't get them til next week. Poo. Phoned the motorfactors back and he didn't really have and answer. So I went up there with a CV joint and asked to try a universal boot and it was a perfect fit :D Bought 2 and the shafts are now all back together!

So a word of warning for anyone who buys Shaftec outer CV boots for an SR20!!!

Also cleaned the HT leads with a bit of GT85. Looks nice and clean.

Operation speed commences tomorrow at 1400hrs.

Its VERY strange that it even has one, as they were phased out on RR SR20's I thought.
It's not needed tbh, and is the main cause of 'startup rattle' on old SR's!
See how it goes, if you have a bad rattle take it off :)
