Yeah really nice, I wish I could weld that good ha!

One thing ive noticed about the brace is the badge isnt central. Is that the same on yours Ed?

Mine didn't come with a badge. It had a sticker on it to the side. I emailed the guy and asked to buy a badge and he sent two for free!! So I stuck mine on the side where the sticker was. Mainly because I have plans for the centre on the brace for something else.

I see. Small detail anyway. Hasnt really made any difference handling wise, but it certainly looks the part :)

Very nice almost makes me want to get an SR20 in my N16, what your mpg so far in this is it higher then the QG18DE and could you tell me your average since the swap?

Thanks for the comments :)

Rich, the 1.8 used to average between 30-35MPG round town and saw as high as 42MPG on a long run.

The 2.0 is averaging 33MPG round town which is pretty good considering the area I live in and the fact it mainly does >5mile journeys at time. Ill be trekking upto Birmingham soon so ill let you know about the fuel consumption over a long journey, but im expecting it to be around 38MPG, maybe even top 40 if I drive it steady.

nice work bud, and while i've not noticed any difference in handling after fitting the alutec brace (i took the car for a little play with kingy and his newly qg18'd car, then came back via some lovely b roads as a shakedown run  ) compared with the megan racing one, but i did notice a big difference when i first ever fitted a front brace to this car, but that may have been due to the car being run on stock suspension at the time. one thing that has changed (like yours) is the underbonnet cosmetics as these braces are very well made, and look great :)

Cheers Liam, would be good to know as currently I am stuck between holding out for that illusive of things SR16VE or the simple QG18DE from a N16 or even better a P11-144 (power is more apprently) or just saying to hell with it and just fit a SR20 of some sort in it and have a truly mental moment with the car...

No problem. It has surprised me in all honesty, but im grannying it at the moment as the exhaust is blowing like a bitch and I hate the noise it make. Im sure there will be more 7k shifts once the proper zaust is on.
