N16 SR20DE

Oh and the problem with the P11-144 is I beleive they're the same as P2 N16? Canbus electrics?

Maybe an SR20 swap is more in keeping with my plans then if the P2/144 electrics are going to be a pain? Plenty to consider plus if I get that P1 Sport + should be a simple plug and play.

Depends what year the sport+ is. The ecu location changed in 2001 from the engine bay to behind the glovebox.

Visited Phil yesterday, pics to follow.

Today I removed the front brakes, ground a bit more off the wishbones (no more rubbing), cleaned and re-greased the pads then re-assembled, fitted TB coolant pipes, adjusted the idle (perfect now, sits at 750ish), tightend up the alt and pas belts, removed the towbar and butchered the inner tube out of the 5Zigen so its now a true 3" straight through.

Tried flipping the caliper brackets over so they sit higher up but no luck. The bracket itself fouls on the strut.

Then I drove it loud. Nom.

So lets get started, standard cat in place to make sure the flanges are lined up right...

The fuel consumption, who says 16 year old engines are inefficient?

This is what I removed from inside the backbox, it tapered down to almost 2.5" but now its a straight through 3" noise maker.

System looks mint...

Bet it sounds lovely.

In hindsight I think I should of gone down the SR'd N16 route...

The diabolical fuel consumption of my Corolla is killing me!

Looking sweet Liam it's all coming together at the right time and the SR conversion looks to be catching on now you've set the standard.

Thanks for the comments guys :) It does sound mint, ill try and get a drive by video in the week.

The temp gauge is miles off as the SR sensor is a different scale to the QG gauge. Ill be getting a digital gauge when I get round to it.

No videos as of yet. Thanks for the comments tho :)

MOT today, passed with 3 advisories...

001 Front crossmember starting to rust
002 Nearside and offside front chassis starting to rust
003 Nearside and offside rear inner sills starting to rust

Whoopsy, think Id best crack on with some tin worm killing.

Glad it passed bud...

Mine went in MOT... passed as well...

As we all know rust is a killer... get on with it asap....

Can't wait to see this again... its awesome
