Spykes Jerky BP0

right then... taken out all of the rear sound deadening... and under the seats.... but i dont want to cut the carpet to get under the ECU... is there a way to get the carpet out with out cutting it???

yeh remove the ecu and something under the centre console too iirc, or cut it you poof

or even better ditch the carpet altogether if you're goin for weight loss y0

Yeah, just unbolt the ecu. There are 2 gold bolts behind the ash tray. When the carpets out, just put the ecu back in the same place.

Sorry mate, just realised you'd replied. Yeah the carpet is quite heavy. I had to move it last night and realised it's probably as heavy all the sound deadening put together.

slightly off topic but how did you get your engine bay sooo clean??
the inlet manifold and head look brand new!

tell me, tell me!?

as the carpet sits under the ecu anyway I just cut mine, theres fixings up behind that hold it in place just above the cuts, I can take mine out and put it back without touching the ecu.

it weighs nowhere near as much as all the sound deadening though. however the rubber sound deadening that goes up behind the dash on the bulk head DOES weigh alot.

Time, effort and BMW Titanium Silver spray paint - lol

It was a right mess when I got it, there was rust and dirt everywhere. I cleaned and degreased everything, took the rocker cover off and took my time spraying it up. Came out mint and then I dropped a socket on it taking a big chunk out of the fresh paint

While the exhaust manifold was off I cleaned the block and head then masked up round everything and sprayed it. I took the inlet off and did the same too. When I was replacing the clutch I cleaned the gearbox and painted that too, bit mucky now though.

It's not hard to make them look presentable. It just takes alot of time and if it's your daily driver it's not really possible. I had mine garaged for months before I got it on the road so it was easy.

You are probably right, but it is heavy lol.

Pretty much, it weights ALOT. I had to take most of the dash out to get the A/C matrix out so I ripped alot of it out then, well all that I could reach/get to.

I keep staring at your sig, I'm in a trance of bouncing boobs

I know Im posting just so I get to look at it more haha
