Glad it worked out alright in the end. Still cheaper than getting a complete new system instaled though.

Got my new headunit yesturday so obviously being an impatient little bugger i had to fit it rite away lol!

and then i fell out with the boss of my garage so i took the day off and decided to trial fit my tv into the din slot.

Here are the results....

And finally the 7" widescreen DVD player beautifully nestled in. Not wired up yet thats getting done on Thursday by BassMechanix (done lots of show cars) when thery put my speakers sub and amp in. Will post pics when its all finished. Opinions please??

sony cdx-m730, i used to have one but it broke so i upgraded to an alpine unit. not a bad unit though i got mine about 4 years ago when they had just come out and paid nearly £400 i think. still got the instruction manual if you want it. if yours didnt come with one that is.

yeah the instruction would be great. aint going to be fiddling with many settings as Bass Mechanix will optimize it for me, but would always be usefull to have. Il pm you matey :)

Its looking good Syms, I haven't been on here for a while, its good to see it looking so well (and you're keeping the dust at bay ha ha!) Happy motoring bud, Lynne

Thanks lynne glad you like it! Are you still missing it :P Glad you think im doing a good job, how is the DUB R32?? Syms

Well last weekend i was a bit rough when washing my car and some paint on my arch peel'd off :( When i woke up the next day it looked like this....

Photo-0011-1.jpg

The way i repaired it was i took all the paint off the entire wing, sanded it down to shiny metal (the arch wasn't corroded or rusty or anything), then put a layer of high-build primer. I decided to do it this way so my mate could paint match the wing to the door and bonnet meaning it would look perfect instead of the arch being a different colour as im very fussy when it comes to cars!. (I done all the sanding/priming etc and my mate just sprayed it)

Anyway the repair cost me 3.60, 2.50 for some tab's for the sprayer, and 1.20 for a can of primer, all the rest of the stuff i just nicked from my garage!

Here is the end result......

The car still need's a wash as its dirty, once its polished it should look spot on! And bearing in mind it cost me 3.60 it looks like a 100quid repair  (man i love fixing things myself!)

I was hoping to have roughly 900quid's worth off stuff to show and put on, but none of it has arrived yet, so expect a major update soon!

Just wanted your comment's on the repair?

Thanks

Syms

nah mate i done the 1 thing i never do, jet-washed it :| (waits for all the bad comments) I blame the litre of vodka the night before but really a jet wash.....what was i thinking....serves me rite ha!

and the benefit or spraying the whole wing is it all blends in pefectly like it was never re-sprayed. Also my mate has done a spot on job with the spray, no fish-eye's or nothing! Still needs a polish thou! And god damnit im sick of waiting for my performance bits :( Should all begin next week ;)

Jet washing is something i occasionally do to be honest. I NEVER use those foaming lance brushes (only made that mistake once) but if the car has a thin veil of dust i just blast it all off with the jetwash hose and take it for a 5 min motorway run to 80% dry it and then microfibre dring towel the last remaining spots and drips.

Every 2 weeks (maybe less) my car gets a 2-3hour polish with all the plastics, rubbers and interior treated with vinyl dressing and a hoover

Then every weekend inbetween the polishes etc it just gets shompoo'd and hose'd down (no pressure wash just tap pressure) then wiped with a microfibre cloth :)

well done man.. great repair you did.. cost you foook all aswell :D

i've have to admit i'll only jet wash if my car is totally manky and i dont have time to wash it by hand, dont like doing it by the jet wash as the car gets scraped to bits by them shitty brushes.. but what can you do..

aye syms, spot on job.. Get mine sorted out man!!

Was pretty quick doing it, I thought you would probs forget about it for a bit lol good job done though!! Get me a quote lol
