Parcel 1 of 3

Well i finally got 1 of my 3 packages! Sadly its probably the least useful of the 3 but hey at least there's some progress after 3weeks waiting! :)

Photo-0030-1.jpg

Genuine NISMO leather gearknob :) So i can shift in style :P Can change the style of the top (instruction in japanese :P) to either it saying "nismo" or it displaying the gear numbers and nismo written across top. (Thats what the sticker-looking-like thing above the knob is  ) Will post more detailed pics of what i mean if anyone wants?

Genuine NISMO rad cap, help keep my car cool! Details are: The Nismo radiator cap is a heavy duty radiator cap, which operates at 18.2 lbs (1.3 kg/cm) compared to 12.6 lbs (0.9 kg/cm) non-turbo

Photo-0031.jpg

This is "stage 1 of operation shiny engine bay" in roughly a week all will become clear....honest! lol

Heres jsut a random shot of some of the instructions. Sure i dont need em but its fun to try and figure it out :p Also the bits were wrapped in a jap newspaper which iv been enjoying :)

More bits to come, seems like all i do is update this thread!

MY GOD.. syms, them parts are savage lol.. i've a nismo rad cap.. but i'm not sure if its just the sticker or if its an actualy nismo rad cap!! post some more detailed pics of them when you get them fitted..

btw, car looks savage :D:D

How much did these Items cost syms from japan? if you dont mind me asking?
Ive noticed they are available on Ebay direct from the UK..wondering if you got them cheaper like?

Right well this is the good bit.

The first 2 boxes which include, NISMO rad cap, NISMO billet oil cap, NISMO leather knob, HKS Superpowerflow Reloaded induction kit and a Nismo Fuel Pressure Regulator with an Genuine NISMO 8mm adapter. The final price INCLUDING shipping was 210 GBP. And considering an HKS induction kit in this country rrp. at 155 including shipping, in theory got the other 4 items AND postage for 40quid (including tracking and security packaging), genuine nismo jap stuff :) Pretty good ey :)

--

I have seen the billet oil caps go for 55quid on ebay, the rad caps 45 and the gearknobs 60, so i saved a heck of alot :)

--

Hopefully package 2 will be here today :) While on the topic on the 2nd package, on the tracking it says:

May 9 10:36 Departure from inward office of exchange COVENTRY PARCELFORCE UNITED KINGDOM

May 10 Retention O22070 UNITED KINGDOM

What does retention mean?? The package which came y.day says:

May 8 23:14 COVENTRY PARCELFORCE
UNITED KINGDOM Departure from inward office of exchange
May 10 14:12 O22070 Final Delivery UNITED KINGDOM

Any ideas??

a store in japan and then got them to post them by the normal japanese post. Japanese royal mail will post anything up to 1.5metres long and i worgot how wide.

Tracking

Well like i said yesturday i got my tracking done after 2.1miles on the new tyres. Really didnt want them to wear on the outside (Tyres which came with the car were!) Took it to get laser aligned, heres the before reading....

**Only putting the angles which needed changing, morewere measure obviously!**

Photo-0034.jpg

And this is what is is set to now....

Photo-0035.jpg

With the two new tyres, balanced and tracking sorted the car is now smooth at high speed's and ever so slightly picks up quicker (less drag off the tyres!)

Thort some people might find this sorta stuff interesting....

Good prices mate, saved you a few quid. Never imported anything from japan because i wasnt sure if there were any nasty prices on top to ship them over etc..the prices do seem cheaper.
I was going to get a T25 turbo and sislicon piping fom over there off an ebay shop but bottled it in the end and got one from the UK.

Dont know a great deal about tracking, guessing it was only your front wheels that needed tracking adjustment? slight toe out on the left wheel and toe in on the right. whats the tolerance on these things? noticed yours has been set to within 0 degrees, 8(minutes?) of each other, at very slight toe in?

My car pulls to the left and my front left tyre is wearing on the outside of the tyre..
Any ideas what may be casuing this? I suspect my front left wheel is toeing in slightly too much, and the drag on this wheel and tyre is causing it to pull left.

with the laser alignment machine you type in the chasis and type of car etc and it gives you the tolerences to set them between. Didnt do it myself (my garage doesnt have a laser aligner) so im not sure what the settings are. The back wheel's were fine, but on the backwheel's not all the angles can be changed because of the rear axle on almera's (and most car's for that matter!).

If there is no play in your track rod end's dale the tyre will be wearing and pulling your car to the left because of your tracking. Some places (who do it properly) wont align your car if you have uneven tyres on, so replace them first then get it tracked up straight away :)

Import Charges

Well alot of people were curious (me included!) to see if i was to pay any import charges. Well a day after my 1st box arrived i got this through the door. Not as bad as i thaught it would be! (Tony blair being a gimp n all) Obviously i payed the extra 12quid for delivery on a saturday (tomorrow's sat) so pick's of some more stuff tomorrow! This is for an HKS Induction kit, a NISMO fuel pressure reg and the Nismo adapter.....

Photo-0036.jpg

*The pencil writing just states it was 39.30 including sat delivery, and that i payed by mastercard, so dont look too much into it :P)*

Syms

Oh and i have read this review:
http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/

But that reviewed the old SuperPower Flow kit's which contained only a 2 layer filter, the kit have is the new revised kit which is a 3layer filter which should hopefully help the filteration side!

Here's the difference in the 2 kits:

The dry 3-layer type is standard in SMF Reloaded Intake kits, and is designed for superior filtration while still providing excellent airflow.

The wet 2-layer type is included in Racing Suction kits and is focused on maximizing airflow for performance, yet still keeping harmful particles from the engine.

The 1 reviewed is the 2 layer wet type, which got the nickname "the mushroom of death" this has since been corrected :)

Yea, mount it somewhere then connect the fuel pipe that went to the original one to the bottom pipe and from the side pipe to the bracket which bolts into the fuel rail in place of the original FPR (you'll need extra pipe). Set it to std fuel pressure...45psi (vac off)
