on new's on the car now all i gotta do is wait to run my cam's in, then get my dastek mapped! Think the vzr grille can wait till after F & M tbh....
 
yeah np's mate you can have a spin yourself as long as you come back :P im practically 100% at F & M in scotland, about 80% JAE at the min will have to see. Will prob's make an apearance at JAE even if it's not for the whole weekend as such. Cant wait to get the dastek put in and finally give it some bean's!!
 
It wil be a big drive for you, so you'd have to do atleast 2 days to make it worth it.

I did that at the AOC meet last year, 4 hour drive there sunday morning. 3.5 hour drive back sunday night. Right pain in the arse.
 
yeah thats what i was thinking. Im up in dalgety bay, fife to get my chip mapped by dastek anyway, which is about an hour away from F & M so im trying to get my dastek mapped the day before F & M then stay over in a travel lodge or summit then go to F & M next day. Not sure about JAE thou....we shall see!
 
do you have to remove the head to do the cams ? and also wernt jwt them selfs not cheaper for the cams ??

nice ride love the colour same as mine but my arches are fubar really should do somthing withthem but its the cost

nah you don't have to remove the head mate.

JWT sell the cam's for $700, everythingnissan sell them for $650 mate
 
ahh nice will have to check them out asap dont know if you have looked at a site called nisport i think its called they do lots of nissan parts

The 5th gear rule is......

"when you gain enough momentum and get into fifth gear, your power steering fluid will need changing because of the friction caused between the gear change (its all one fluid on the almera you see), then you must park at the side of the road, abandon your car and go buy another one"

Its hard but on the way to york one time i had to buy 11 cars. Luckily i learnt my mistakes and decided to go with the GTR i was talking about. I only post on here because im full of infinate free wisdom.
 
Update:

Well its been about a month so i thaught i'd put up a little update! Nothing much costmetic has gone on, other than purchasing a vzr grille (which isn't on the car yet) and a set of goodridge hoses (which also arn't on the car yet :P)

Quite a bit of work has been done to get her in 100% shape for my trip to dastek. The following has been carrier out:

Different spark plug's (hotter than my last set)
3 layer filter on my HKS airfilter instead of the 2-layer
Cleaned up my MAF sensor
New coolant temp sensor
New exhaust manifold gaket
2 new front tyres
2 rear handbrake cables (genuine)
2 new rear calipers
new disc's (genuine)
new pad's
new pad rattle springs (40 bloody quid!!)
bleeding of the brake system with 5.1 fluid (second time this year)
new windscreen without sunvisor tint

quite alot then but not much to show sadly :( So i thaught i would show you some pictures of my car after i've given it a good scrubbing for Fast and Modified. Sorry for the quality of the pic's had to use the old camera phone!

Very nice man, Sometimes I wish I was able to do half the stuff mechanics do, not too late to learn though ey
 
After producing 142whp and 145lbft of torque i also found out my timing just isn't quite set right, possibly a degree or two out, so a bit of lost performance there. I've decided to go all out and just get the JWT adjustable item's, and get it all set up on the dyno. After the cam's are set up properly and im happy, the car will then be remapped again and we shall see her running properly!

Ordered the adjustables on saturday, asked for priority international delivery, and damn was it fast, received them at 8.00am monday!

Within a month they will be on and my car will be remapped, so expect another update rather shortly :)

I ordered the item's from JWT direct, unlike the s3r cam's :)
