updates on the n14 vvl/ nos/ lsd project

not convinced on the sr16 gearbox and 1/4mile times tbh. I'd say with a proper built 20ve aand getting on for 200whp, along with a 9k revs...if you make decent power from say 6-9k you might be better with longer GTi box. You'll stay in power when changin up but also be well over 100mph in 3rd iirc so no need to change up. GTi box with a mech diff would be my preference.

of course you can playb with size of slick tyres for ratios n all that shiz too if you really wanted

if nothing else ive had one of the best laughs this year from mr nos,

watching him trying to fit a grp bonnet/tailgate and poly windows in a gay saab convertible,

then try and close the roof nearly made me piss my pants, the fact that he was still at it 10 minutes later just made my urine extraction even closer, ahhhhh funny.

cant wait to sell him some grp doors....

Glad I made you laugh, now can I have some grp doors and plastic windows?

I was not to happy as my only option was to drive with the roof up half way round the m25 with the grp stuff sticking out,at one stage going 70mph the rear spoiler that was on the tailgate almost came loose and flew out, I managed to grab it in time.

P.s The Saab has got me out of alot of tricky situations, so it is useful.

Has this thread turned into a Mr Motivator thread or what.
Okay in that case....Continue

You didn't HAVE to go 70 though did you....

Well quick update to start off 2012.

Before I wrap the car bonnet and spoiler in grey want to give the rear it's UK Sunny look back. I hate it when people say, 'is that a Pulsar'....NO IT'S NOT.

So off to work putting the Sunny number plate holder and rear spolier back on.
I will then get the badges and stickers back on.

My first child (Baby) due early March so want to see if I can get a shake down at the Pod before it goes in for the next stages.

I think the birth of the baby will put things on the back burner for a while.

So Iam hoping to complete the rest for late 2012, hopefully all sorted for the end of year 1/4 mile shake down

lightweight battery

Hahaha

Anyway, cheers guys

As mentioned my aim for this car is to get close to, or match the standard times power of a standard gti-r which are; 220-227 bhp/ 0-60 in 5.4/ 1/4mile 13.9.

http://www.nissangtir.co.uk/articles-full.asp?art=1

Nissan Pulsar gti-r specs - Specifications
Dimensions, Weight & Performance
Length/Width/Height - 3975/1690/1410 mm
Wheelbase - 2430 mm
Tread front/rear - 1440/1415 mm
Kerb weight - 1220kg for GTI-RA (Road Edition), 1190kg for GTI-RB (rally Edition)
Seating capacity - 5 (really 4)
Minimum turning radius - 5.2 m
Maximum speed - 223 kph+
Acceleration - 0-100 kph - 5.4 sec
Acceleration - 0-400 meters - 13.9 sec
Coefficent of drag - 0.39
Ground Clearance - 150 mm

I managed to find a 0-60 calculator for anyone wanting to work out their 0-60 times from their 1/4 mile timeslips

http://www.tyobio.com/0-60Accel.xls

Mine worked out at 5.47

14125.jpg

t, sec d, ft
0 0 -------------------------> 0 - 60 time: 5.47 sec
2.207 60 -------------------------> 0-60 dist: 283 feet
5.988 330 ------------------------> 1/8 Speed: 78 MPH
9.127 660

You can tell the timing is acurate by comparing to the Gti-r spec times of 0-60 in 5.4 and 1/4 mile in 13.9

Well it seems as though alot has been lost due to the site change.
Haven't logged in for a while due to 1. this site being down, 2. birth of my baby son...love of my life right now.

So i will just update what has really been happening over the past month.
New induction cold air feed and filter kit, fitted samco blue rad hoses, fitted odssey battery.
Taxed and insured the car, mot till June.
Just been playing around with different options for cold air feeds for my new set up.
Everything home made...lol was bored, so played around with different ideas whilst the baby was asleep, and have 3 weeks off work.
