Samantha are you following me around darling? Well what can I say flattered, love you too.
Just want to say the worldwide web search button is a great thing, so may topics you can find about this swap.
Craig thanks for your help so far on the otherside.
Okay quick update.
After my fcuk up yes we make mistakes. I had 3 different distributors in front of me and cut it wrong, but also cut the wrong one. lol
I deal with accounts I am no mechanic, just learning things as I read.
Have quite enjoyed getting my hands dirty and learning great things.
Below the sr20ve and the sr20de almera dizzy I was meant to cut as a test.
Below you can see it will not sit flush without cutting the bottom leg off.
so two ways of cutting
1.
2.
I cut like this
Then smoothed it off
I managed to have it cut right so its sits flush against the head.
Thanks to my neighbour who let me use his grinder.
Put everything back together but now started to worry about timing being out.
Picture above without the vvl link up as I am going for a standalone ecu which will have vvl control.
Okay I am sure I have the plugs all in correctly 1-4 etc, dizzy on and bolted, tried to fire her up.
Nothing, turning over but still not firing up fully.
After my neighbour started playing around with the dizzy trying to adjust the head while I tried to start it on different rotaion timing settings, and it was much better felt like it was almost starting up.
Then decided to charge the battery a bit and try again, still not fully firing but it's like 90% trying to start.
So quite pleased as it was better than before.
I think the only issues it could be.
1. Needs for battery charge longer
2. Need to play around with the timing
3. Needs a new dizzy
4. Check fuel lines which I haven't really done yet.
5. Check all looms and plus are in correctly again which I haven't really done yet.
P.s noticed a hose missing section on the right hand side of the maf area, looks like a black fuel filter bottle with 2 hoses that should join to it? see picture below is is that fine as it is.
Almost there now, will get this sorted eventually.
How she looks now
Tired now so will start again in the morning or new weekend.\In no rush what so ever to have it on the road.
I will have the last laugh.
