Hmmm, it is drivable but it will be very rich at idle, so much so that it won't idle.

I have done it before but just take it easy and get it to the dyno to get it mapped.

Fuel filter line goes on the feed side on the fuel rail.

Other fuel line (return) goes to the regulator.

So in short, swap the lines over at the fuel rail.

yeah it will start when mine was the wrong way round it sounded like it would start but didn't took me a while to find that i made a idiot error lol but it happens bud :2guns:

Surly injectors and dizzy and Afm from same model of car and this would run reasonably at low RPM..

any updates?

surely you've had it started by now andy? you were soldering that new dizzy a couple of weeks ago?

still not reppin the n14 vvl?!

Saw him a couple of weeks ago and he was waiting to book it in with a car spark to get the dizzy wired up to the loom as he didn't have any free time to do it. Won't be long now I'm sure.

:corbs:Sr20ve distributor wiring is done, but because the car has been sat for a while I need to charge the battery. Been very busy as well lately so will get the car charged up when the weather is better and see if she fires up. As I said before in no rush. Not doing it for anyone, she is staying with me.

Okay had an hour or so free this morning so decided to have a go at the car.

So close right now, and I am sure I'll kick myself when i find out it is a simple thing, but right now I am just suggesting why it is not starting.

It seems to be that the timing is way out so the car is not firing up.
There is spark going to the plugs, all dash lights are going on, wipers work and electrics, the fuel pump is turning on start.

So the only two options will be to do all that timing gun/ light and distributor movement, or take the head off and have a closer look.

I do not have all the timing equipment so may take to a specialist.

I have posted a video below and some pictures to see if you can give any help or assiatance.

The sr20ve distributor is all wired in and I was charging with my Saab as the battery was dead flat.

Planning to get the car on the road for March/ April 2011 time.

Does the video work?

dude, It seems you know not a lot about basic mechanics..

Have you had ANY combustion?> all you need is 4 things for combustion..

1 -compression.. ( even if low or varying you will still get some combustion )
2 -fuel ( even if low or high you will get some indication of combustion )
3 -spark ( even if only half the plugs are sparking, you will get some combustion )
4 - number 1, 2 and 3 have to be reasonably in time with each other

If you know compression is good. and you have spark and fuel. Check the timing of cylinder one.

Timing guns are cheap sub 25 quid.

Has the engine been rebuilt?, as in is there any reason the timing chain would be out of time?

Iam no mechanical expert, however throw me some accounts and business information and I'll be great at it. Just learning as I go along and getting help from friends. So will have a look at the points mentioned above. Cheers

how do you def know there is fuel?

even tho the fuel pump primes on start up, it still might not run fuel to the injectors if the wiring is wired wrong,
