Autech Pulsar GTi

This is what Frank is saying, but he's implying that it wont be able to bleed that pressure at higher RPM...and i think he's right.

aye :) the reversion will lessen as the intake speed increases, and then the inrush will overpower any reversion and you will eventually get a slight supercharge effect (thats why race engines have a V/E of over 100% eh, 140% is achievable iirc)

the apexi power FC isnt a full stand alone unless you can source the D-jetro unit that can run a map sensor instead of the MAF..

as for all the debate.. standalone or chip its all abit bollocks as for an N/A car all you need is to be able to do the ign and fuel.. the more expencive the more resolution youll get but for 99% of the cars on here a nistune would be fine or even a dastec if your going TB's then a d-jetro or standalone is your only option most of the expencive ecu;s and standalones have features most people on here would never ever use!

I guess i should make a sacrifice and settle on a CR of 13.99:1 instead then eh

Since when does a stand alone system need to get rid of the MAF?

The Apexi Power FC replaces the stock ECU, plugs into the stock harness, uses the stock sensors and allows you change just about any parameter you can think of...

Ignition timing
Fueling
Injector size & latency
Sensor resistance and voltage scale
MAF size (and voltage scale)
Cranking igntion timing
Idle (both base and while under electrical load)
RPM limit
Temperature voltage adjustment

...and a shit load of other stuff that I can't remember off the top of my head.

It would suit 99.9% of applications and since nobody in their right mind is going to run ITB's on a daily driven / weekend track car, without running an enclosed plenum or chamber, then there is no concern in using a MAF.

ITB's open to atmosphere, yes, you will have to use a MAP sensor, but you will also have other concerns, such as idle control and vacuum control.

Bang for buck, so to speak, it is the best system there is!

a true stand alone is just that can run anything the apexi is engine specific i was arguing semantics..

everything the apexi does a nisstune can.. and being as apex dont make the GTiR version anymore you would be lucky to find one for the cost of a nisstune..

but were both arguing the same point zero cars on the forum have the need for a standalone..

Next up will be replacing my Bosch 4.9 LSU wideband sensor, as it hasnt worked since removing from the TSi.

Just a small update carrying on from where i left off. Ive since replaced the wideband sensor and I'm pleased to say the gauge is reading nicely now.

.....................................

No engine upgrade updates though im afraid...

This week i finally decided to get a few small annoying parking dents removed from the OSF door and NSF wing and ive also had a little paintwork done on the back of the car under the OSR rear tail light.

I took a couple of before, during and after pics, you can see how the paint had bubbled up due to a spot of rust under the paint:

Needless to say im chuffed with the results, safe in the knowledge the one peice of rust on the body of the car has now gone, and no more annoying parking dents! Happy days!

Must be something leaked or blocked, that spot had gone through on Miriam too, I looked behind and it was alllll bad.

Yeah definately, i suspect a poor seal between the body and tail light at some point in its life.

Its fine inside now though.

Great stuff Dale that bugged me all the time I had the Autech. I'm glad it's finally been sorted, wish my current Pulsar was in as good condition bodywise as that one!
