Time for yet another update! (This one is a big one - Sorry for the picture whoring!)
Kipped over at Andy's last night and while I was at work he begun to cleanse my rusted engine bay
(Which may I add is much appreciated dude!) He set up a waterproof (non-waterproof) gazebo around my baby:
When I finished work I headed back and decided to tackle the rocker cover:
Dead flies heaven! This is part way through and it was coming up seriously well! Had a few issues with the right hand side of the engine (Burned on oil which just WONT budge!) hence why I am looking for a second cover to spray up. The following is of the manky plugs which cleaned up really well (bar again some brown substance that will not budge).
The following is of the finally product which I think looks a hell of a lot better than when I started. The brown stain is really obvious here..
Andy in the mean time had been cleaning away at the coolant cap, power steering cap, fuse box, air box (which is an arse and will need more work doing) and cleaning all of the black work inc pipes. Pictures follow:
He also cleaned the red battery terminal cap and the red and yellow (Thought it was genuinly black!) Earth cable. Before of the terminal cap:

After all of his work:
Pictures of me scrubbing in the degreaser on the hard to reach places:

For my personal favourite clean of the day is the bonnet catch. This is before:
After (Looks so goddam good!):
The end of day pictures (Which I am really happy with)
The following is of bits I will be cleaning up more thoroughly. Once everything is clean I will then look at engine dressing
The following are getting stripped off and cleaned up:
So yeah, sorry for waffling on but there is a bloody big update on my engine bay degreasing progress
I'm hoping to start stripping bits off to paint them up soon and then I can finally finish the major engine clean. After then I will just keep on top of it every week
A big thank you to GldnAndy for letting me use his drive to clean and for all his help in cleaning the engine bay with me. Keep an eye out for future updates on how the engine is coming along!
