BeardedViper N16

Ah ok that would make sense. Feel free to slate me for my noob question lol

Edit
If you could price wouldn't really matter as they'd only need replacing if you kept the Nissan ones so it'd maybe work out the same in the long run anyways?

anodizing creates an oxide layer for protection, steel oxide is rust, not good, there are plenty of other coatings available for steel depending on colour your after

Every time I took a nut or bolt off from the engine bay, it got a good clean & fresh grease on before going back in. Made removing them again after very easy ;)

Been busy again today! Been the scrappy and picked up a shit load of plastic trim clips seen as I'll be taking off the wheel liners tomorrow to fit my clear side repeaters and I'm guaranteed to break a few :/

Also picked up the front crash bar which is bent on mine, new radiator top mounts to clean and paint up (good shout on the bolts Liam, the car I pulled them off in the scrappy both snapped) and a new washer bottle cap to clean up :)

I then picked up my mesh for the cheeky little mod I have attempted tonight!

My new modded grilles:

The picture quality on the last is pretty diabolical but you get the idea as to what I have done :) Think it gives the front a bit of a more aggressive look. It's not finished as tomorrow I am going to fill around it and spray it up in black (leaving the mesh? - opinions wanted!)

More updates tomorrow :)

I like the idea but I can't help but think it doesn't work. Maybe put standard grilles back on and paint the chrome part black mate might work better. I think the mesh overpowers the look of the front of the car

leaving it as it is looks worse than the original imho, so at least paint the mesh black ;) or cut all the slats just leaving the outer edge and mesh the whole thing ala ms grills, and still paint it satin black

Defo, as Phil (happyharry) says on both painting it black and the whole thing in mesh like the MS Design ones. Also, when you say fill in around it, do you mean block it off? Because you might need to keep the air flow in there for cooling.

Love that you're trying this stuff though, keep it up mate :)

Cheers all, no Ed I meant around the mesh itself just a thin line all the way around painted black as it isn't the neatest job unfortunately..

So it's be better to mesh the whole grill instead? I've got the black spray that I need already :D

I love trying stuff out Ed it just never usually works for me! Haha

Had a busy day today as planned - even though the weather was shite and it wasn't the best day for spraying :/

Managed to change my side repeaters to the clear ones after a bit of chopping of wires. Was a complete ball ache with removing the plastic arch liners and partially removing the side skirts. Anyway the final result is as below:

I also got my little stickers in the post so made my hazards button a bit more obvious:

I then decided to spray the front grilles...first of all I wanted to spray the plastic bar on the bumper black which was extremly fun in the rain. I end up covering myself and the engine bay in towels. I'm sure I inhaled WAY too much spray paint today. Bye bye lungs.

After they were finished I grabbed a picture of them although it isnt very clear unfortunately...

A bit later on I decided to go out and take some pictures of the car at night again. I can't wait until JF because I'm getting the lowering springs then so it will sit so much better! Here are the pictures (And a close up of the grilles):

Finally...call me childish, call me immature, call me a 'chav' but I fucking love my green lighting on my interior :D

I am very slowly getting there but the more I do the happier I am getting with her :)

Time for an update on how the modding/de-rusting is going.

Andy has been busy rubbing down my scrap yard front crash member. It had surface rust but had not rusted completely anywhere. The worst of the rust is below:

And this is after the surface has been keyed up ready to be painted:

There is still more to do and there is another bar to rub down yet but that is for next week (When I purchase the hamerite three in one).

I was in a scrappy a few weeks ago and saw something that gave me an idea of a mod that is cheap yet quite effective.

I was going to dismantle my clocks anyway as I wanted to fix my rev counter. I took it all apart but realised I couldn't get hold of the part I needed so while it was apart I did a bit of spraying and got the following results:

Then I gave the car a bit of a dust (To give me a head start before the deep clean on Friday - ready for JF!) and this is where the inside stands:

More to follow soon :)

Ok so a quick update before Japfest.

After Liam's shout on the other post about tinting (FlyEye) I bought some on Monday and it was with me yesterday. Had work though so decided to fit it in between showers today.

I think the tint is awesome and seen as it is completely legal it's a win win :D

Btw the fog light tint is personal preference so you may all hate it but it is staying until I get bollocked by the law for it :P

Got another update tomorrow which I will get pictures of when it is finished and installed (Thanks again for the idea Liam!!)

1 full day of cleaning before JF and some final tweeks. Awesome :D
