Darrens N16

I would imagine all weights are given as wheel only. Contact Volk for the most acurate weight :)

well I got my caliper brackets back today and im really happy with them. I am currently spraying them to try and stop them rusting.

anyway here are some pics of the calipers on the hub and some pics of it on my old inovite wheels. I am using a 5mm spacer to stop the caliper and wheels touching. I have more then enough thread it takes about 8 turns to tighten the wheel nut. im a bit unsure about the Volks as they need more thread according to some one

anyway here are pics

If I want to upgrade to 5 stud I will use the Tino hubs then use Honda Civic Tyre R discs and remake a new caliper bracket. Honda civic disc will be 300mmx25mm and 50mm heigh

I am currently using a Volvo T4 / S40 disc which is the same size as stock 280mm but is slightly thicker (25mm Thick) I could of got away with using the standard almera disc as the clearance between the caliper and the disc is only about 2mm each side if that. there is no chance of the pads falling out the calipers even if I was using the almera disc 280mmx22mm

I can't wait to get these fitted.

also getting the CF dashboard back on friday at latest. I almost finished my custom facia too.

How much has it cost you to upgrade the brakes?

Overkill on a QG18DE, no?

(don't take this post the wrong way - I'm genuinely interested in what you've done, tbh)

well some people say over killed. and its a qg15 :p lol

it cost me about 600 quid or so. the calipers on there own cost 500 quid. I rather have endless then Brembos

I might even be selling them if my ABS does not work

everything is pretty much done all I need is a engine now.

might get P11 rear carriers and disc to upgrade them to 278mm

!

It'll be worth it if you do swap the engine out, but definitely OTT for a QG15

Only thing I'm thinking about doing to the brakes on my QG15 is swapping the pads for EBC Greenstuff once I've worn out the shit cheap pads that are on it atm (shouldn't be long - lols) :D.

do you have ABS on your car ?

also my car is loaded too audio so its quite heavy extra 100kg but thats beside the point lol. I got coilovers, and brakes and hoses now all thats missing is the engine lol

Yep - it was standard across the range for Phase 2, iirc.

not true some S models came without ABS. it was only till 2004 all of them had ABS.

ABS was a legal requirement from late 2003 I think. so early phase 2 S models never had ABS

also I would recommend yellow or red stuff. I heard green stuff are not that good

Ah - fair enough.

My car definitely has ABS - it's the Pulse special edition which had the safety pack as standard (ABS, side airbags, front fogs, etc).

fair enough if you want you can get some wilwood brakes
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WILWOOD-BRAKE...66:2|39:1|72:1683|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50

these are perfect for the N16. the only problem is you need to make a custom bracket.

the info given from ebay seller says 240-285mm disc and thickness from 20-22mm vented disc which means the standard disc can be used
