Eddie's SRi

Doubtt id goo 20VE for some timee as that would require custom mapping. Im after a complete transplant from a regular SR16VE for direct bolt in

And the availability of after-market parts for the SR motor, like Lightweight pulleys, flywheel. Also for insurance reasons still being a 1.6 doesn't rocket my premium like a SR20 would

Thought u liked the cusions EDk ;)

he likes tommos post not your cushions

and toyos are fine if they dont need replacing ie they are bald why bother....

get an sr16 engine put 2.0 crank and rods in it keep it insured as a 1.6 who is going to know other wise.....

Arghhhh even an SR16VE is gonna cost loads.
Get a £100 DE and throw it in ....

Nott that simplee im afraid looking at all the implicated costs

Would need the Loom etc

£250 for SR20 full kit + £200 alarm recoding

Insurrence £300 hike

Good £750 right there

thats just 140bhp standard thoughh stock GTi abit lazy

Where as around the £1000 mark for Complete SR16VE with LSD to boot

Being non nats ECU, is plug and play meaning I dont need to fuck about with keys etc

So the question is.. £300/£500

Worth it for 175bhp standard? VVL cam switching. Would be good for mee as its my daily driver too get sweet mpg running eco lobes.. Then when I need it ive got power higher in the revs.

LSD to help get them times down on the 1/4 mile and help pulling me through low gear tight corners

If insurance company decided they prefur SR16VE then a SR20DE.. id rather go with VE as I consider insurance premium rise dead money. Id rather have moarr going on my engine.

And besides I havent spent all this time gunning for VZR parts to stick a DE in, making a custom VZR basically. And if anyone goes on about Vtac.. well ive got VVL its better thats allways nice haha

Eddie you talk shite,
DMSteve's 20VE with proper mapping only pulled 177bhp so how's a stock 16VE gonna pull 175bhp.
It aint.
and is my car 'lazy' with its £100 DE?
NAH.

and stop bringing your gay alarm recoding into the argument!
Engine > Alarm anyday!

Due yours isnt a standard GTi anymore lol!

Steve's pulling that seems weird when wezz pulled like 213bhp in banzai mag

something not quite right with the dyno's like your pulling 140bhp or whatever.. we all need to meet & get dynoed together to be a fair comparison on same dyno

Alarm still a factor as it costs lol.. cant ignore the ££ man

and hey just look at what people have said about the GA 1.6, in that they seem to get less mpg than a GTi. An SR 1.6 has no torque, which is fine when you're at 8Krpm, but round town and that's really going to affect your economy. Why do you think diesels have such high mpg? It's all about the torques.

and why everyone who upgrades from a GA engined N15 to a GTi is surprised when they get better MPG

They would look nice if they were Volk bronze, but they really do look like the make-up section of Boots.

It was a joke re eco/fun lobes lol!

I know its still a 1.6 but, its a fun 1.6 compared to my current GA

Its merely personal choice id rather have a SR16VE with VVL/LSD than a the common SR20DE.. not pissing either engine just made a personal choice guys

Alloys in the pictures dont pick up the metalic sparkle u see in the flesh 2bh, and tone it captures if different too

I want to follow a different route then the usual white/black/silver etc etc

im a bit 50/50 on the colour of the wheels, think its going to be one of them things where you need to see it in real life, but as for the gay picture of the wheel on your bed between your scatter cushions and beenie babies, LOL seriously, more evidence :P

You talk so much Shit sometimes Eddie,
and Joe has a point, for the money it costs for a VE you could have a very fast DE, but it all depends on what you want.
wheels look mint btw
