fidd's N16

Just a small update on my progress so far ! Had the dremel out this morning as I needed to modify the front bumper slightly in order for it to fit ! I also had to remove for the time being the fog lamp !
Now the decision I need to make now is how much do I want to mod my beloved MS Design front end ! Do I - make it open mouth too see all of the intercooler or something else ( a nice photoshop by some kind member would be good )

Don't do any cutting... Please!!!

Run it as it is... If u feel it not getting enough air put a bigger cooler on...

It's not going to have as hot air as a turbo... The air does not need to be as cooled as much...

my mates VR6 made 235 bhp without an intercooler ;)
just a direct feed from the charger ..

Oil cooler was looking a little tired ! So I've given it a little tidy up !

I've also had a look were it can be mounted ! As there is not a great deal of room I'm going to mount it on top other intercooler ! Do you think that it will get decent cooling down there ?

Today's update
Mounted the oil cooler above the intercooler !
Mounted the traction oil reservoir onto the strut top !
Mounted the traction oil filter and brkt !
And fitted a new normal number plate !

Cars looking good.

nice job on picking up the supercharger kit. Whats your plans on engine management? still going to use the 5th injector setup, or looking at using something else? There are real advantages of having timing control to be had.

On the engine management side of things the fifth injector is no more and is replaced with a Destek Chip to piggy back the ECU and the fuel injectors upgraded to 330cc ones ! ( which are from a Mazda MPS engine fitment I believe )

I have also now got an alternator and have modified to incorperate on extra pulley in order to run the charger unit belt !
I'll post pics later as it needs a lick of paint to tidy it up !

As I mentioned in the last post I needed to get and modify an Almera alternator !
Well here it is and ready for paint ! Was thinking of a black and blue scheme ! Just to add a splash of engine bay colour ! Using a 1.6 quasqui alt pulley The alt spline has been drilled , tapped and then an M8 bolt tightened and lock threaded in ! As the placement of the supercharger is above the alternator this is what will run the belt ! What do you guys think ? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1350144521.186500.jpg

Also my LHF caliper seems to sticking ! I've stripped down and regreased the pins ! However I think it maybe a piston concern ! What's the best way to remove ? Thanks in advance !

what rpm will that dia pulley be spinning the charger at through the rev range bud?

I normally use compressed air on the fexi input to get the piston out, but if you don't mind a bit of mess you can take the caliper off with the flexi still connected then just keep pumping the pedal.

Went a little crazy with the colour coding today like !

Won't be to everyone's taste ! Lol !

I also contacted TTS Perfomance today ( the original supercharger installer ) about the size of the pulley used to run the charger ! I gave him these dimensions - (as close as damn it anyhow )
Crank pulley - 160 mm
Alternator pulley - 65 mm
Rotrex pulley - 94 mm
Maximum RPM - qg18de - 7000
All the sizes are taken from edge to edge of pulleys .

This is what info he came back with " You need a 65mm dia pulley on top of the alternators 65mm pulley to get the right supercharger speed " .

Now my question is the pulley that i attached to the alternator ( quasqui one ) is only 60 mm ! How much could / would affect boost or running condition ? Any help or info would be champion !

Right ! After an eBay let down and Ben's Maf sensor unfortunately being the incorrect fitment ( thanks anyways Ben ) ive finally had delivered the type of Maf sensor I've been after for the hard pipe position ! 40 notes from airflow uk !

However when I've gone to fit it the bastard harn connection is smaller !
Anyways got a harn conn from a breakers and Well you guessed it - the feckin wires are different !!!!!
imageuploadedbytapatalk1352568004-571232-jpg.8524

Now the question is 1 - should I wire up colour to colour ? And obviously wire the odd one out together ?
2 - do I somehow modify my original maf with housing and fit that into the hard pipe ? Using maybe a 45 degree bend hose ?

Hope all this fuck on is worth it !!!
Any ideas chaps ?

Ignore the colour and find out which wires go where and match.

But be careful the MAF isn't putting out different though if the wiring is different. Ill check my dci MAF wire colours if u like?
