Got ya.... referring to one as 20v and the other as 20ve got me confused. Both are 20ve engines, with different specs and outputs.
Sounds complicated....stop faffing and just fit a big ass DE! ha ha.
 
When removing n1 engine...how dafuq you get to connections on starter...got 95% of stuff disconnected..just starter, pas pump and gear selector rods left
 
Big ass plate at the back of the mani has to come off. Get your starter reconditioned while it's out. I did because it's a pig of a job once it's back in. All new hoses should be got for the pipes down the back of the inlet also because no one wants to go through that shite.
 
engine finally out, in the end what I did was drop it, with starter still connected, just released enough of the loom from the top to take any slack, then undid the starter with plate still on, was very simple that way...

got too late to start stripping engine, that will have to be from next weekend now...
