how much is your list likely to cost

You know what Ashley, sod it. If you want to make a GTi clone then thats cool :) Having seen Scott's and Kristians ones I can say it should be great. Even if you choose to stick with the 1.4 thats alright, tommo did and his Si was awesome. Just remember, subtlety is key to modifying these days.

yeah man keep it subtle, :D

as what some one on here prevoiuosly mentioned tuning is an expensive road! trust me!!

take a step back and look at it sensibly,

take the easy, safe option,

get gti brakes and running gear, and just put a SR20DE engine in it,

follow joes build and youll have a nice motor!

as soon as you go turbo you better have plenty of cash for backup,in case anything fgoes wrong, as ive just found out, now im off the road till dec as i can afford to fix it :(

beside going from a 1.4 to a 2.0 ltr will be more than enough!!

Agree^. Going from a 1.4 to a 2 litre will be enough to keep you satisfied for a long time mate. And when that wears off, there are loads of little mods you can do to the sr20.
