Reminds me of My black mera. Such a good feeling aint it when you get it up in the air and see that the Chassis IS worth the following X many hours effort.

im thinking of sleeving the SR16 90mm making it a 1.8 :D but it will still have an awesome rod ratio thus being better at higher revs than an SR20

box, shafts and linkages for mine you mean petal?

no i was messin around that you might be doin summin with an actual sr18 like mine, and therefore have you got the manual box, shafts n linkages i'd need  jokes. didn't get that pulsar on the bay, but thinkin fuk it i'll do it with n15 bits and save the cash for n14 coilys

but the sleevin the sr16 sounds, hmmmmmmm.immense

so you going to be building up a ve engine using your 1.6 bottom end crank pistons etc with the 20ve head cams how are you going about the flywheel gearbox etc...

do the blocks not differ.. me being under the impression the gtir bottom end is narrower to accomodate the transfer box etc and the flywheels being different sizes an what not.....?

Correct, the only block that fits with the GTiR gearbox is the GTiR block.

There isn't enough clearance on any of the other SR series blocks.

AH SHEEEEEEET, WE GOT A PROBLEM!!!

ye ol mighty VE god knows this surely

could the crank, pistons etc be transfered to the gtir block?

ian is correct. the SR16 block will be getting machined so the transfer box clears :)

the build will be

SR16VE crank
SR16VE cams
crower forged rods
CP pistons (90mm)

sorry joe, forgot you asked a question lover

yeh im having it back, john has done all the hard work for me  im just giving him back the money he has spent on it :)

a good skank though, no more pussying about with FWD :)

on the note of the block differences, the pictures i took 2 years ago  can see where the block is going to need grinding

You going 90mm for the 1800? An SR18VET GTi-R will be epic, suprised no one has done this to a R already in the uk....those who drag/race them anyway and rely on boost to make the power, where yours will just blow them out of the water.

im surprised too mate, who knows, i might start a GTiR VVL trend  i wont need to run as much boost neither.

going off klinks EG civic B16 turbo, its sleeved to 84mm with a T3/04 jobby and makes roughly 370 crank at 18psi, so 20psi with a GT30 should be quite interesting ;) the box will love it
