I see what you mean, RaceworX had a 1.3 micra that only had intake and exhaust but loads of handling mods, that could keep up with Evos and scoobs in the twisties!
When I did a sprint day in my 1.0 micra the guys with much better cars were impressed, it was mainly just the power/weight ratio and size!

another difference with a smaller engine/less power is if you're half way round a bend you can just put your foot flat and you wont spin off and die, worst is a little bit of understeer, this means you can drive the car at full pelt but with a more powerful car you can't do that as it has the power to send you into the ditch/barrier/hell so you're constantly working at getting 100% out of it

so true there is a road i take to work in the almera i could do it in 12 mins however in the skyline the best i can do is 14 mins
only good thing thing is the power when your out of the corner alot quicker to the next corner

True fact!
I know that I can keep my foot flat most of the time in my SRi,
Me and my mate raced an import MR2 2.0l this once in my mates 1.5 LSi Civic, and only beat him cos he couldn't find the right balance in the MR2 and nearly span it!
:)

Just waiting on pistons, then I can begin:rolleyes:

Erm, gotta clear some space in the garage then get to work...wan't it mapped and on the road for mid May. You still using the C2's?
.

not at the min, just using the s3 cams i had fitted before,

i have recieved my c2's tho, but im planning doing that next winter now

Whats the low down on this build Kurt?
Correct me if im wrong, from what i can make out you have:

- Brian Crower Stage 3 cams
- Cometic Multilayer Steel Head gasket (thickness?)
- JWT adjustable cam sprockets
- Lightweight pulleys
- Presuming Brian Crower rods in the other boxes for use with VE pistons?

What CR is this gonna result in? Any room for a head skim aswell?

This is looking nice!

-Correct (272* + 12.5mm lift)
-OE 1.2mm

-No rods....in them boxes are...Titanium retainers, uprated valve springs and lightened valves (all good for 8krpm)
-SR16 pistons are on there way (which is circa 11.7:1

There's room for a head skim..but I doubt I'll bother.

Right, after being stopped in my tracks by the head studs....I moved onto removing the air con rad and piping. Came out pretty easy bar the obligitary rusty nuts and Nissan over engineering.

Here's what she looks like at the moment:(

Kent cams, manifold full system, bmc air filter...that's it engine wise. It has loads of mods but few to the engine.

getting there la, if you need a hand with anything let us know

Cheers, Im sure there will be something:lol:

Well here's another update...it's a slow process but It's a good learning curve.

To do today is drop the sump, undo the big ends and remove pistons. New rings are already on the VE pistons ready to re-fit tomorrow probably.
