proberbly not this weekend the next week end as need some pennys for parts first. but will proberbly fit gearbox at the same time if its here.
the head is now bare and just waiting to be able to take the head to be skimmed hate not having a car and relaying on other people to do stuff for me
right got all my parts now but as im getting a new motor a bit more time to play with the head and inlet mani.
first is the inlet mani but im just a bit curious about why the second port across isn't ported out on the inlet like the rest of them and why theirs 2 holes on the second and third but not on the first and last but has the marking to be opened if you get what i mean
well head is finaaly off some deft little bracket bolt was holding it on
wondering what these little spacer things are as only got them on 2 holes also a couple of pics of the motor hasnt been cleaned since jae last year still doesnt look to bad
Wheels look the tits pal I'd wait til you see them next to your motor before deciding whether to change the colour, imo I think same colour just shine them up lol
right today got the head fitted and a few other bits and pieces done. wanted to get the cams fitted but my torque wrench only starts at 28newtons so need to ask a favour off a few friends their. heres a few pics ffor you guys any way of it fitted and the cams just sitting on top.
had a 1mm head skim on the head
also i have 2 tensioners after getting nistro's head and noticed that the one out of mine had more teeth so im guessing thats the better one????
owe and one of the battery turned the battery so i can get a more direct cold air feed fitted
I would not torque down the cams. I did Almera Turbo's car today and as i tightened, some felt nasty, some ok. Just get a small 3/8 ratchet and be done with it.

ditto man, after the last debacle with mine (and yours!). This time round Dale just did them tight with a 10mm on a screwdriver handle, and that's all I did when I fit the spray bars. Just follow the guide in the fsm and do them in order, like a turn or half turn at a time. You'll know when they're tight.
well i will be sorting the cams out today or tomo need to finish painting the rocker cover i have been hiding in the shed.
im just trying to figure out cam timing and all that as when i just sit the cams on top the cams seem to wanna sit at 5 o'clock on the inlet and 7 o'clock on the exhaust side any ideas guys
Odd. The exhaust cam should drop in flat at around 11-12 on the dowel and the inlet at 10 o clock. Then using the fsm you can pull the chain on the exhaust side tight and turn the cam slightly towards 12 o clock till it goes on the correct chain link.
