N15 GTi Track Car

Thats an astounding result considering the size of the shed this engine was built in

Great stuff ian, pleased for you. That looks like some intense top end pull there!!

but you do have it right??

ahh i mean the 194bhp run was with a test additional 200rpm for a test run then put back to 8000rpm, i think.

David i went there for a remap, not to get a bhp figure.
Greg was constantly using the computer terminal and did many runs, so i didn`t get chance to takes pics of every run.
The graph i posted was final run with the 8200rpm rev limit. You`ll just have to take my word on the 196.5hp run. tbh i`m only interested in the whp output.

The HLM dynojet figure should be interesting.

very true ian, plus you have no reason to make up a figure anyways. did you ever want to dial in a tad more overlap to create some more torque? i know too much overlap is a trade off for top end bhp, are you happy with the balance?

cracking GTi in every way.
david

I dont really need much torque with a high rpm, high output engine. On track it`ll hardly ever go below 4.5K anyway.
The lower ration N1 box really helps. You`re always in the power band, and dont need 1st gear on hairpins.

I`m very happy with the balance.

arrh true, for a daily midrange torque is/was nice lol however for your GTi top end is where its @!
plus you have bags of it - see you at HLM

OMG Ian you need to pop round Joe’s lend his ASP *not fitted, 3’ cat back and return to HLM to hunt down that 200whp. I personally think that exhaust system would be the cherry on this DE cake.

why is it i can see that being the last thing rowdy'll do  chasin figures or destroying exotic cars on track.....

plus the fact it makes and holds power well shows the fuji is fairly well suited to the build, never know the asp could eff that up, maybe make more peak but only in a peaky spike high up.

I'd say it's about perfect as is, possibly a 2.5" catback? but i think a 3" would do the same and make it all peak power and less torque maybe.

Latest dyno result for those that have been asleep:

It doesn`t need an ASP. The fuji is designed for a high revving VE and appears to do me proud. Maybe a 2.5" in the future. I`m sure a 3.0" would see 200whp.

Ian not that it means eff all, but was the first power figure from mapping at protuner on a dyno dynamics machine?

purely out of curiosity, wasn't SRR that time was it?

love it ian, the tranny losses are very minimal also, i'd say thats down to the good condition N1 box and the full chassis setup you had done :) (my old car had 20 less whp and 2 more bhp :doh!: ) top top job geezer. now lets finally see the 13 this car deserves (yes i know it a corners car but lets not deny we'd love to see it do a 13)
