N16 SR20DET conversion

The later B15 Sentra and P11 Primera gearboxes used a hydraulic clutch setup, as do the Pulsar VZR's.

A cable operted setup can be converted to hydraulic and vice versa.

Try and get an LSD box if you can, as you will struggle otherwise.

You could also convert the car to have a cable operated clutch, as it wouldn't be hard!

Cheers

Dave

I think lexus lights work nicely on some cars... Mostly black/silver cars though, But then again they fit in on heavily modded cars so you could be ok :)

Cheers for the tips.
we'll see about the lights when it's finished. It's least of my problems, to be honest.
I'll probably just convert the box i got one way or another, as long as it's strong enough. (unless anyone knows of one going spare? ;) )

how much work would it involve an how much would it cost roughly???

It takes some thinking about, (authough, not too much or you'll do something sensible like buy a GTi, 200sx or pulsar for half the cost, like you should.)
It takes Loads of work to get it right. Just about anyone could put the engine in, but everything has to be thought of, or you've just wasted your money on a pile of scrap clutches, drive shafts and gearboxes.
It takes lots of patience and most of all, far, far, far too much money. :feint:

If I hadn't made up my mind to do something different, I could probably have 2 well tuned pulsars! (My donor car cost me 3 grand.)

As Dave says, the P11-144 is hydraulic and also stronger. Look for the cover plate bolted to the lower front RH part of the tranny.

Unfortunately the P11-144 didn't have a LSD as an option so you may as well stick a phantom grip or equivalent in there.

Spoke to the garage last weekend and it should be running by the end of the month, if all goes to plan. It's mainly electronics (setting up the boost controller and ECU) The bespoke 3" exhaust is being made, After that I'd like some bodywork done.
I'd like it ready to go to Japfest in may totally finished, hopefully raising some eyebrows on the dyno.

Problem I have now is a Pulsar sat in the garage gathering dust, along with most of my Almera, If I can shift them, I stand a better chance of having it done. :D

Cheers all, Rob.

Hi there! Mind if I asked about your cars? What about them? (N16 & Pulsar I mean).

Well, 15 months in and still nothing to show for it! I'm now having to take legal proceedings to get anything out of my project.:wall:
I was losing hope and almost cut my losses and bought something else, but after seeing all the skylines, 200sx's, evo's, pulsars and 12 billion subaru's at Japfest, I still crave something a bit 'different'. :P
I'll say no more for now except steer clear of a 'Japanese Specialist' (read: mitsubishi, but we'll have a go at bodging anything else) garage in Wincanton, Somerset. ;)

I know who you're talking about. Just down the road from my ex missus, bunch of jokers, they NEVER got her sunny running right after half a year of trying! and that was a std engine in a std car!

I'm determined to finish it lads, don't worry!

I'm inspecting my car on friday to see if the 150hrs work they claim to have done is true, if not, i'll screw them into the ground! cos i'm nice like that. :D
(In 150hrs I think I could've built a car from scratch!)

Expect an update on friday night,
Rob.
