Well I figured I would have a go at fitting the manifold, with all the grief its given cant say I was looking forward to it, and also knowing how much effort and faffing the ASP required, removing rad fans, dropping the engine cradle etc

So I removed the rad fans, jacked the car up, pushed the manifold under and it lifted into place... doesnt interfere with anything, or touch anything... Im actually impressed.

and it actually has some clearance its sat just above the engine cradle which is a bonus, it sits slightly lower than the ASP did comparing it with old pictures but that was due to the different style of engine brace.

Now I just need to get my lambda installed and the section to the cat, which at first glance I think is going to be too short.

header looks on point sam, cleareance looks good too. problem with US headers is they're never fitted to N15 chassis motors during R&D is all.

my rad fans have never been removed...

you shoulda kept the asp sam, this won't perform any differently - ask joe they're the same basically he says

love you joe

Stainless>Mild Steel
JMR Collector>ASP

Its considerably lighter than the ASP

and the price I paid wasnt to shabby ;)

yeh tell me about it, daylight robbery even if it has needed work!

oh and also they're not similar designs either, i think joe was having a stu moment - he has an asp so therefore its best no questions :P

The ASP interfered with too many things the one I owned did anyway, had to remove the block ontop of the engine brace and cutting a section out of it just so it would clear the first primary.

I need a slightly shorter belt for the alternator now but thats because I would like to get the alt as far from the manifold as possible.

i think these jmrs would be half decent if bought through greg who's apparently dealing with them now

i have a feeling this one i ordered was just some tatty one they had knocking about that he thought he'd palm off on me cos of being in the UK and not being likely to mess about returning it and complaining.

Hope the work you've done to sort it pays off.

yeah, its probably just one they knocked up for the initial pictures when they said they were making manifolds a demo one of sorts probably why its not finished around the ports etc, it will do better than stock thats for sure.

Cant remember if anythings missing from here, so will go with what I have.

Had all my braces blasted and powdercoated.

Cusco front strut brace, Whiteline Rear ARB and the stock 26mm Front ARB, Ive already chipped the front ARB :(

All the Whiteline fittings are being acid dipped and zinc coated, they will all then be sprayed black.

The Cusco brace was a bit of a cnut to be honest, someone previously had fucked the thread on the insert section for the middle, and smothered it in chemical metal then forced it into the brace, it was near impossible to remove :(

So I asked Cov nicely if he could knock something up for me, it is a reverse threaded section, he also kindly sent me the taps so I could chase out the threads of the bars once it had been powdercoated :)

Ive put in a big order with Greg at GSpec for bits to refresh all the front end, car will then be fully polybushed, I have a few things being machined up aswell that should make a decent difference too :)

Then once the car is on the road I need to go and get the downpipe modified for it to fit properly, fitting a flexi pipe will/should resolve the issues.

I then need to decide whether I actually want to spend the money on Standalone :( Im just about there its whether or not its the right thing to do as it is a fair amount of money and a large commitment....

if you think of it as an investment that you can take from car to car the price isn't that bad really, and the g4 is a cracking system for sure!
