Sams VZ-R N1

the entire rear of the car was painted with seam sealer before being undersealed, all the nooks and crannies have been sprayed with cavity wax, to stop water sitting in them, its all in hand yo, the front panels are almost as badly designed as the rear arches :(

Figured I would see if the subframe could be removed from the car with the engine still in place..

It can, was going to look at stitch welding it around the edges, but its completely seam welded already so win for Nissan right there, whilst its off I will strip it back and paint it up, same for the bracket that goes on the back of the gearbox.

Sorted out the brackets for the front ARB aswell

Quick mock up of a lower brace, will certainly work and will sit up behind the engine brace so clearance wont be an issue.

And swapped out the Aircon box behind the dash for a non aircon one.

after hearing how much of a difference the Cusco's make I wanted one, but they have been discontinued now :(

So this will be the next best thing and it wont have the clearance issues of the cusco

Its been off the road for ages so makes no difference how much I do to it now. Will be near perfect once Im done.

No they haven't. I bought one a month ago. It hasn't arrived yet it's still being shipped from Japan.

Unless of course I got the last one ever in which case you'll hate me for the rest of my life!:p

Good work with removing the underbrace. I'd like to do this with mine and get it all sandblasted, resprayed and poly bushed.

there are others available though yeah? tbh I don't see the subframe bending enough (if any) to warrant the foibles of living with a 4 point underbrace tbh, though going the route you are will avoid most of those :)

No probably not but I have fitted all new CV boots so my shafts are off anyway.

Ive replaced every piece of rubber so far in the front of the car.

Have to agree with sam tbh the steering and handling were alot better when i fitted the 4point and poly wishbones.

Good idea what your planning sam. Also if you contant tayo iirc almera red sri. He has a alloy 2point brace. He keeps asking me to fit it. I keep telling him to sell it pm him and offer him 60/70 for sure he will sell ;)

I thought the underbraces also if not mainly reduced wishbone movement? I know the 2 point Nismo one for the B15 does this.

It ties in the two wishbone mounts together with the chassis of the car.

Its not going to cost me anything to have this one made so Im not going to be buying any brace, Im building this one for maximum ground clearance.
