supermonster - N15 GTi in Kuro Black

Tyre profile

When I moved up to 17"s, I specifically asked for '45' profile tyres because of the ride comfort issue. With speed bumps and lousy road surfaces around, they really make a difference over '40s'.

And that's how they look - I like the rhombus shape...

Thanks!

I also did something else over the weekend - took the header off and wrapped it up with tape.

I also put the APEX'i filter back on but this time on a standard length intake pipe:

The reason why APEX'i is back on is that it does not really make much more noise than standard airbox for me. Also I noticed that the fuel consumption on standard airbox increased! Don't know why but that's true! Panel filter was clean, nearly new.

Just want to get a s/s heat shield around the filter & cold air feed pipe and that's it. No more playing with air intake.

thats my old manifold that, was on bens Autech then sold on again, were the gaskets for it ok?

My ones were shite

came from a groupbuy arranged by bigmac I think, I only had it on for about 2 weeks then I changed it for one of the 2.5" SSAC ones

i started in the afternoon but finished late evening...

195/45 tyre is 11.5mm bigger than 205/40 (1.89%) but my speedo was not showing correct speed (drving 70 showing 66) now it's better (driving 70 showing 68)

Ooh I could learn something here, I always thought that the 40/45/50 etc was the difference between the 195,205 (width) expressed as a percentage, thus:

45% of 195 is 87.75mm sidewall
40% of 205 is 82mm sidewall

Difference is 5.75mm in side wall, No?
i haven't measured it tho, so if you have then id go with that.

aha, i guess you mean the 11mm difference is over standard tires.... thats quite a difference on 195/45!

as you can see above the difference between 195/55/15 and 205/40/17 is only 0.3 mm so 195/45/17 is over 11mm bigger than both of them

ah but my 5.7mm (side wall) x2 is 11.4mm (tyre height) difference

i was refering to the side wall, not the tyre complete height as the table states.
607.3mm isn't the tyre side wall tbf too

(il stop it now, sweet car buddy)

Today I replaced starter motor but haven't started car yet - took oil pan off and left car overnight for oil to drain completely. Removed old silicone.

Starter motors were slightly different, my old one is on the top:

Can anyone tell me if any special precaution should be taken when fitting new oil pan?
Applying silicone, waiting time, etc.
