Well the verdict is, its an awesome ride. The gearbox sound is very whiny and is the loudest thing to be heard on the motorway or even at the traffic lights. Its some getting use to, but so long as you down gear into the right one it can have some serious pull. I've only done it once so far when I dropped from 5th into er 5th - which was a tad annoying.
So its 350bhp at the moment, but they say I'd should upgrade the gasket to a metal one (probably a cardboard in there?) before looking into the 400-450 marks. Before then, I should really pay some attention to the braking as the EBC GreenStuff and Discs are less than adequate in handling the deceleration! I'm told the MeisterR 355 won't be completed until January so may have to hang back on the power runs. Need to de-cat it too, not sure how much bhp that would add if anything.
Looking forward to getting it on a rolling road.
Have found some minor annoyances, like the brake clips sometimes touches the brake disc giving a squealing sound - not much I can do about it. The air ventilation dial that elects direction from face to windscreen seems disconnected. Still can't figure out why the fogs don't work - all Relays seems to be there?
May need to take a weekend to strip back the dash.
I've also upgraded to the flat wipers but found that the middle part of the blade doesn't touch the screen properly!
Other than that, there isn't much I really need to do to the car. Got a quote from Kode-Performance to respray the car and door interiors, sort the dinks and smooth the bonnet jet washers/ door key hole, handles and remove the weld line on the rear boot (under light clusters), fuel cap interior surround and rear bumper scratch all for £1500 inclusive that's paint/labour.. which is pretty awesome pricing. Just need to find a nice sample of blue paint.
I'd like a slight deeper/lush blue than the Marine.
Finally, I'm looking for some decent places to take it on a photo shoot sometime.
Again, thanks to everyone for their kind comments over at JAE, it was good to see you all again. Can't wait until next year!
