That's a nice set of figures there dude, but I'm amazed you have that much power running w/out a w/band sensor for your AFR's ! Think I would've had that done a long time ago

Yeah Leigh we should do a shoot for it
Going to take three of us to do this, I'll drive you in mine whilst you film.

It's been a long learning process. He got the car in a fair condition and sought a specialist to take it to the next level.

Since then he's been

Poorly advised
Scammed
Ripped Off
and
Robbed

The car's been raped so many times that we've found things going missing every time he brought it to that TopJackass, some of the stuff that went missing wasn't even his.

Well being this time of year, I was unable to photo the latest addition.
So the N1 A'PEXi Turbo muffler has been installed and now has a very notable deeper tone.
Also installed is the wideband O2 sensor and controller and it drives much more smoother - well as smoothly as you can on my gearbox at traffic speed.

Driving it round town it felt like it was not really pulling as I was used to feeling until I look in the rear view mirror to discover I had pulled away quickly, just didn't notice. Take that statement with a pinch of salt as I yet to drive the car often enough to be familiar with all the sounds.

The only menace was discovering rim damage from a pot hole! Thankfully not too serious.
Will be contacting the local council about it but will hopefully get a local firm to fix.

Pics to follow next time I'm out in the beast.

Opinions on external wastegates

So I was reading an old article on GTiRoc about a member with stock internals same turbo but with a 3" exhaust system and external wastegate running at 1.1bar - achieving 377bhp.

Now, I haven't looked at the options of an external wastegates nor do know if I can actually fit one to my 4-1 manifold: which appears to be the common location.

Can the AOC empower me with recommendations? brand-wise and the different behaviours of the sizes i.e 38mm and a 44mm together with the best install location.

Not looking to get a loud 3" exhaust run.
The new A'PEXi muffler loud enough without adding more girth.

external wastegates just control boost better leigh. you will either need to mod your mani or get a new one piped for an external gate. the size you get depends on turbo size and how much boost you run. An external gate wouldnt necessarily give you more power, it would hold peak power better though

Neighbours will love me for this mod. An A'PEXi Active Tail Silencer. Basically the silencer sits in a spring that is fully expanded at low pressure or standstill. When the flow pressure increases the spring contracts allowing more flow through the muffler.

Throttle response/feel has improved and the exhaust flow more efficiently controlled.

Next, strut upgrade.

I wondered what the hell I was looking at then, so glad you explained it! Interesting. It works well for noise?

Yes noise is er less noisy, initial feeling was I rejoined society or at least felt accepted by other traffic folk.

When it counted tho, at low speed.

Had a feeling this would help the low end torque. In this car you do feel everything but this one mod is a positive sound which is ironic being a silencer.

Next on the list is a sport cat, know any good brands? Jerex came up on google. And what's better 200cpsi or more?

decat it, and get a 3" exhaust go and see Alan at Solid Fabrications he will sort you out something amazing.

he could sort out external gate for you aswell, can make it very quiet too.

Makes sense, less cells mean more flow.

@steve that's as far as it goes in, I'll need to hammer it in a bit more to rid of the double lip position it has now. Might tape off the muffler and spray it satin black alike the intercooler - this could reduce the gayness.

Off to check out Magna-flow website be right back ...
