White SRI

Hi guys, been a while since I've posted any updates on the mera and think its about time.
Been busy wi work really so not done as much to the car as I was wanted.

First job was to sort the n/s outer C.V joint had some pics of this but lost them. But guessing everyone knows what the C.V joint looks like and how its changed right? Whilst doing this job I changed the gearbox oil and put some molyslip in......this stuffs supposed to make gearbox smoother. It does feel nicer with this and the fresh oil in. Worth changing the gear box oil to keep car maintained...good mod if you can call it that!

So i figured if the cars up on axel stands I might as well put in the lowered shocks n springs for the front that i got from RAJackson (thanks mate). Guess what.... I had pics of this but lost em to lol Not doing very well at showing what I've done so far am I lol

Ok, then I wanted to 'clean up' the engine bay and give it a bit more 'umpf' so I got onto ebay and got myself the Focus induction kit on order.

Thought the rocker cover needed cleaning and spraying so I set about doing just that. At the same time I thought why not just colour code the door handles and the light at the same time....so here goes:-

Rocker cover cleaned up with lots of elbow grease and loads of washing up liquid...got ma ass kicked for using so much washing up liquid lol.....looks nice and shiney tho lol

Wanted the 16valve bit either black or silver...opted for silver:-

Now the Nissan has to be in red to colour match the SRI badge on the tail gate, red lighths, and red nissan badge on front of car......extra detail of pinstripe added:-......lookins sexy me thinks lol

Whilst doing this little rocker cover project I sprayed the rear lights and got maself a shark fin ariel:-

Not put the ariel on just yet. Can't be arsed putting it on yet really. lol

Rear lights sprayed fully and laquered in front room drying with warmth....looking good me thinks:-

Ok, so I also set about spraying the handles......has some progress pics but I've lost them to but here's the result....you can see front lowered bit:-

Induction kit and rocker cover installed, mani heat shield painted black......(90degree bend needs painting black and tightening up a bit more)............Sounds immense for a 1.6, pulls better but you feel the induction kit working best at high revs (3-5k) when on motorway. At low revs it sound good but don't see much performance diff unless you plant foot down but then it drinks like a camel lol:-

Lowered fronts end......back end needs lowering but think it looks good....will do rears for more stability tho.

Quick question........how would I go about bringing the rear wheels out slightly. Want them more in line with arches if possible to do safely. If its not safe then I don't wanna do it. Don't want to compromise safety for looks. Thanks in advance guys.
 
If im honest, i dont like the rear lights. Each to there own. Get some spacers for the rear wheels that will bring them out.

To be honest mate I was a bit unsure to do it or not. But then I've done it now. Looks better in person than pics I think. If I get some Lucino's I'll gladly boot these in the bin lol.

If I put in spacers, will i need longer studs?
 
I dont think so, but check first. I had spacers on with 17"s and used the same studs with the stock alloys when i changed back. (without spacers)
 
Coming along really nicely mate :thumb: Lovely little mods that add up. Not keep on the painted rear lights either tbh but the rocker cover and colourcoded handles are spot on :).

Simple cheap 5mm spacers you'll get away with but anymore and you should really get hubcentric spacers. I think you can do 10mm on the front and 15mm on the rear, maybe even 20mm.
 
looks good mate, although i personally think you should have left the oil cap black.

i'll warn you, the car will get lower once the springs settle in ;)

Ok long due update. done these wheels a while ago. Just never got round to post. Alloys yet to go on car. Will do as soon as kit is sprayed. Any way heres a few pics of the bits I've done.

Alloys being preped:-



All alloys few coats of white primer:-

Ph1 Gti Rear bumper, skirts and original Ph2 Sri splitter going in to Kristians worshop for spraying this week. Thats when brakes get Gti upgrades done. Got some mintex pads for front. ordering some new shoes for back. Then alloys can go on. Oh and the exhaust once I've found and old back box for cheap for the flange end. Strut brace getting tarted up to to sit nicely in engine bay. Toying with idea of an SR20 conversion now lol.
 
I like the job you've done on the wheels, looks very professional!

I had a full GTi exhaust lying around which you could have had for a good price.

haha wouldn't be my prov spec black bumper would it. have to say car looks better in person. was good meeting you mate. looking good keep up the good work

Thanks Ed, yeah will post some pics up soon as kits sprayed and on. be week of so from now with bit of luck.
