It's not too bad it's the driver with the heavy foot that's the problem and boost is so addictive also...

Should get a diesel :p

I'm looking forward to seeing it finished. You've got so much more patience than me it's unreal. Hopefully it'll be worth the wait. I've seen the bumper in the flesh and it does look good so fingers crossed it all works together :)

I can't blame you bud, tbh the day I got confirmation that Paul's supercharger setup wouldn't be big enough for the stroked ve I was seriously gutted and straight away syrted looking to get a hold of a t25 off an escort cossie to throw on the ve in a low boost setup to improve the bottom end pull, but I finally saw sense lol

The draw of a boosted SR damn it even an NA SR is now always on my mind... ;)

I was talking to mum about this in the car earlier. I thinking if you did fancy it come down to get dopey's GTI, tow it back or nurse it if it's driveable, Take the engine out. Sort the head gasket, put that into yours, then either break the GTi shell or weigh it in to get some of your money back is what I'd do if I had the money
Just would make sense and scratch the itch as well if you're pondering it you're probably not going to be happy till you've done it

Not gonna happen Ryan if I get an SR it will be an SR16VE, hence why I'm getting the Sport + so I can get the extra engine option while I look into if a VZR will pop up and give me the engine I really still want in my car... ;)

Ah I see now lol. You know what bit's I'm after still right for the sport+ if they're not snapped up straight away lol

I guess VE would be awesome but IIRC they're only about in Ireland?

Popped over to the bodyshop to check out a minor issue that cropped up with the grill install, turns out the grill is slightly twisted either from the front end impact sustained when on it's previous car or from the initial moulding being slightly out.

This wasn't such a huge issue as it was decided to blend the grill into the bumper much like Ed originally did and here are some images of how out it was and the fibreglass being used to bond it to the bumper (picture heavy).

Fuck what is that stuff? It's like a fibreglass paste! Wish I'd had that when I blended it in. I used strips, like normal FRP and then filler. Didn't have a grinder at the time either.

Yep is in indeed and comes with a hardener etc just like the layers etc but much quicker to make up such areas and the grinder made short work of getting it down to the required level.

The filler is on top of the fibreglass used to rejoin the bumper after the 20-30mm was removed. It will be worked down and it is only to add a layer to the fibreglass prior to primer etc. I don't foresee any issue with this cracking etc as the structure of bumper is sound and well supported.
