G's Vzr N1

Damage would almost certainly have occurred to the head too, due to being dry. Is it possible no oil was put in at service?

dd
Am pretty sure G does his own oil changes etc so oil was defo put in.

So gutted to hear this G, when John told me I was proper gutted for you and wondered how it was possible as I know your meticulous with looking after your cars. Hope you get a decent block and this rebuilt asap?

no way 3 and a bit litres of oil can disappear.............. these SR's dont burn oil.

if the head is ok, defo 20ve block would be a smart move.

As was said in my opening post on this...oil was sorted to correct level 1st week of December..Twas before npoc end if year meet..was double checkin levels as I knew would be giving it a blast that day...

Agree no way should it just burn that...got to have gone some how...to search for how us the mission now..

Well I know it's definitely not one where oil just drips out as since topping it up yesterday..none has leaked

Out of question have you had a good look in the coolant? With that amount of oil gone it has to have gone somewhere and you would have certainly been seeing plumes of smoke out of your rear view mirror.

ive had mine show low oil before so I have topped up. then checked later it was way over the mark.

It seems to store the oil somewhere magical.

The not being able to turn the engine over concerns me though :/ Ive got parts if you need anything.

280k kms is defo the largest mileage before a blow up on an N1 much lower mileage ones have suffered the same fate! Shit one about it locking up tho would almost surely say the bottom half is toast.

Was coming out with foot down doing a tunnel run...so I expect the worst for the bottom end...will see what the go pro caught...noise wise..

last run before it stopped...noise from inside the car is totally different from what the gopro caught mounted on the bonnet..

If the head and cams have suffered, most damage would be under the bearingcaps.
I've driven my SR without oilpressure for over a hour. Lobes were perfectly fine, but under the caps it was horror.

Oh wow, yeah that's done,

Pop the rocker cover off and have a check of the cam lobes for any wear.

It sounded off right from the start though, I'd figure the oil pumps failed, from the sound between the gear change.

Anymore videos from earlier in the evening?
