G's Vzr N1

Yup put rear bolt through rear mount first, I put front bolts in first and the rear through bolt wouldn't line up so had to take off and redo fucking fiddly under axle stands the brace is quite heavy when u can't move ur arms much

Lube & manhandling it will fit :)

I'm pretty sure I had to trim my drivers side mount a little to get the bolt in' I just used a little rotary grinder to add a little clearance

was time to replace the steering rack bushes today, cheers for the tips guys,
was pretty straight forward swapping them.

also removed ARB, got it all wirebrushed, as it wasn't looking good, will get that painted up tomorrow...
next big thing to do is to remove the wishbone, and the bushes from it...

how the bugger do you remove the oil pressure switch off, can't see a spanner working on there, need to remove it, looks like it has been removed in the past as there looks like some sorta orange sealer on the thread part that is sticking out...

its covered in oil, so need to remove and replace it...

time for some bbqing...

though didn't go full on mad with fire, just use the heat gun to get the rubber hot enough
to twist the "D" shape mount off the wishbone...that is after the main housing was cut off
with grinder.

Nice :).

Do you just clean back with wire brush then paint on hammermite or is there more to it?
Might do a similar job on mine when fitting the stuff.

yeah just wirebrushed any loose rust and crap, degreased em and painted up...didn't bother with any extra stuff for em, will leave that to the bodywork on the car...

was thinking of doing the wishbones Silver, like I did on my Skyline for the suspension arms on the rear..

they were genuine Nismo arms, but were 2nd hand, so cleaned em up and repainted silver as they came in silver

update for last two days..

Wishbones removed, was pretty straight forward removing them, apart from
the two lower bolts passenger side shock, being totally seized in, was a pita to remove them,

then on the other side, split pin in the ball joint was a right bitch to remove as it
was in at an awkward angle..

when removing wishbones, noticed steering rack gaitors split both side :(

also noticed this bush on mine are totally different to the spare set I got of Wezz's N1..

now stuck on how to remove tie rod ends, to change steering rack gaitors, and also to find replacement tie rod ends and drop links, as ones I've seen for GTIs don't seem to be the same as ones on N1...

old bonnet release cable and new one..
