Yee haw short block built, professionally cleaned, honed, new rings, 2lt crank and rods, n1 pistons custom cut for oil squirters, Calico coated acl race bearings... all tolerances and clearences checked and ok.

Next on is the head.

awesome, looking forward to this one being done, it is basically going to be a 2.0 N1 isnt it :) shouldnt be far from 200whp this baby

Cheers man, hoping for good figures with the oversize valves and the likes should be quick enough. Having to get the head done is going to cost a nice bit of money tho I was told it wont be far shy of €1k.

have you sorted the low oil pan baffle? this will be the same spec as my lump but with nice fat valves :( carnt afford them lol..

Oil pan? your going all american on me lol.

I don't think I need anything as it's an sr16ve block and every was attached so I dont need to change the original setup or do I?

@steve: that's just the machine work includes port and poilshed cutting out the seats for the valves, a 3 angle valve grind, fitting valve guides, and diamond polishing the surface of the head and fitting all the parts together and then shimming it for the cams.

there was only one company over here that does it so had no choice really thats the pity about this country being so small any engineering shop would do the other work but cutting out the seats for the oversize valves is a specialist job.

Lucky I didn't fit that so...I need an sr20ve sump baffle? Good to know i'll get on it.

Next question will a de one do? and where can I get such a piece?

Right my gear box wa starting to get difficult to get into 4th. I have a few vz-r damaged boxes at home so i'd said i'd rip the lot and find the best parts out of them,

Decided to use a box with 4th pop out as the rest had casing damage.

So started off like this

Right so out of the 3 I had there I used my N1 5th gear and shaft attached, the main shaft and all the other gears from another, I checked all the baulk rings and there within spec and the teeth look new on it and the LSD from that original box.

Cleaned it all up and put back together, I have to steam clean and paint it all now in work over the next few days.

that's a well crunched gear ring lol, nice work on the re-build though and also for letting me know of a good source for rs5f32v gearbox bits

To be honest there ain't a whole pile left 4th gear seems to get death on them all for some reason. If anyone from Ireland has a vz-r gearbox lying around tho get in contact might be able to use bits from them to fix more.

Small Update got me some HKS old skool analogue gauges no electronic sensors here just pipes runnning straight into the bay lol... I put them into my DIN slot tonight but need to make up a blanking plate for the faces to sit properly into...

Also on a bigger note my head is going to westward engineering this weekend, martin promises to have it before christmas so I'm thinking I can haul the block into the utility room on the boring end of christmas day and assemble the lot sounds like a plan to me!

Cheers for the offer sam but the fecking gauges are an odd ball 46mm! pain in the arse but I think suit the car perectly!

@gti-kurt:They sure are!

Where could I pick one up sam would pay a reasonable amount HKS want 140 quid or the likes and I think thats retarded for a small bit of plastic.

Cheers lids, Looks like I'll be doing them next year sometime.....they don't feel too good on this box. Mfactory FD while im at it? Oh go on then.
