you can buy a dry sump 54c n/a engine with itb for 8k, 260hp second hand.

youll need management and a decent gearbox to get the most out of it.

quaife still do a seq box for the fwd sr20 at around 9k then youll need flywheel, clutch, shafts, etc etc.

cheapest way to do it is buy a car and split it, sell what you dont need.

15k nme spec sunny for sale just now with nme box and ex btcc engine.

stuff is only going up in price.

So is that class c up to 2200cc? Regs look fairly relaxed. Id be looking to rob a vzr of its running gear if I were you. Be good easy cheap out of the box power. I got a wee bit over 180bhp out of my de last year with cams and bumped up fuel pressure, didn't idle to well but it went well once it got going! If you get a hold of a vzr youve got that to start with. Unless you really want to run a de?

I have a De here vzr box fidanza maxim manifold I'll be getting a omex 600 , that's how it's gonna run for a while in production clasd, diff and final drive to be bought after to either put me at the sharp end or move up to slicks etc

Future plans I'll be in the <2000cc touring with k20 and b18s Honda's I don't fancy playing with a pack of m3s with huge financial budget

You planning doing anything to the engine before you stick it in? Cams would be a big benifit. I'm running c3's at the minute and I cant recomend them highly enough.

To get what working?

I stand corrected on the ecu brand.

An article from a mag I have 2001.

Having problems with photobucket but car is down(ish). Had it out racing lastweekend, managed 2 class wins but times are similar to last year. Problem is that I can't get a bearing to fit the cusco diff so still running a knackered old vlsd so although theres more power there isn't and more grip!

Heres a wee video of one of the runs

Bearing off the vlsd is fooked.

Running kumho v70's. K12 on the rear and K21 on the front. Destroyed the fronts in one weekend so need to go up a compound for sprints by the looks of it. Run K12 all round for hillclimbs.

The one in the spare box is fucked. I dont want to take the box out of the car to try and remove that bearing to then fuck it up and be completely screwed with no gearbox.

You can get aftermarket bearings to fit the diff. I found some that would fit, but used the ones on it in the end. Not very helpful, but i can't remember where they were from.
Car looks to handle well btw.

Good to know something exists. Tried a few bearing companies and keep drawing a blank!

Its handling really well this year, turn in is bang on, just struggling to get out of the corners without spinning up the wheels.

Since the last event above I have managed to attend 1 hillclimb, completing 1 run and snapping 1 drive shaft. Had it on the rollers before that to check all was well after its first weekend and it made 203bhp which is exactly the same as it did the first time it was mapped. I have to admit that I was a little dissapointed with that but considering its still a standard highport head and a cheapo ebay header combined with a newly rebuilt bottom end its not to bad. 20bhp up on last year anyway! And untill i can get the diff in any more power will just be wasted anyway.

I dont plan to do much to the engine during this winter, I'll be spending all my pennies sorting out the bodywork and trying to get the weight down. I am going to start collecting bits to build a head for it though. I am considering ve but that woild require differant pistons. I have a 54c head but that will require the block bolt holes machined. Can't really go lowport with the itb's. Have a heap of highport heads so one of thoses cnc'd with big valves, 54c valve train and c6m cams would be the easiest option.

Open to ideas and thoughts!

Go VE, its the better option in every way. N1 pistons can be had cheap enough. Wezz was selling some for £60 iirc
