N15 GTi Track Car

Would a B14 carbon bonnet fit? looks pretty similar, the only difference i can spot is that it doesnt dip down after the lights, it runs straight across, not a major problem though. Depends if its the right measurements though.

Even if it did ( i`m sure it would be close ) shipping a bonnet costs a fortune. I priced up some from Japan and they came to about £1200 each or £900 as a group buy!

awesome Ian, i think you need another speedo video and compare it to the old.

ermm.... have to hire out my private test track again. ;)

There's some on the bay for about £500 ish that includes shipping. I was tempted to whack it on the credit card, but it would be a lot of money to waste if it didnt fit

Hi, I want to give out the Air condition, but then I must give another belt for the Electric Generator. And I want to ask about the lenght for the Belt without A Condition. Thanks very much.

Went to see Jez at H-Dev for an ECU re-map. He`s a great guy and really knows his stuff! We live mapped the car on the road for a couple of hours getting the fueling and ignition timing spot on....also upped the redline a little to 7300rpm.

The standard injectors were only maxing at 75% duty cycle at 3.5bar. Nissan rate injectors at 2.5bar, not the industry standard 3bar, so the GTi 259cc injector are actually more than 320cc........so they dont need changing for a N/A appilcation and not even for a mild turbo conversion.

Didn`t get much chance to `test` the car on the way home during rush hour motorway traffic, but it pulled better on a few sliproads ;)

No more engine mods for me, just some more weight saving and suspension/steering tweaks......oh and a dyno run some time.

I am 99% sure that the Nissan injectors are rated at 3 BAR.

Most of the stock regulators are set at 3 BAR.

Either way you don't seem to have a fueling issue...LOL!

Yeah, but they rate/test them at 2.5 bar. ie GTi injectors are 259cc at 2.5bar, 330cc at 3bar. I know this because mine were flow tested ;)

I know i`ve been a bit quite of late, but a hyperactive 18 month old takes up alot of time! lol

I`ve fitted my BC BR coilover and they feel great, if anything they feel smoother and quieter than the Daiyamas, which is strange considering the spring rates are higher.

Here they are coated in wax....while i was in there the arches got undersealed, new droplinks and bushes, and new bottom ball joints as both were split:

The car sits a little bit higher, which isn`t a bad thing! I used Wezzs topmount trick to add some castor as well as camber....it work a treat and is a superb mod....faster steering, quicker turn-in and lighter steering ( a bonus with no PAS! ):

Given her a good clean and polish....not bad for a track slag!

Fitted some p1 foggie blanks ( thanks tommo ) rather than mesh. i think they look pretty smart......maybe spray the grill black?

Oh and a up to date engine bay:

Car cleans up alright dosen't it Ian :)
Looks great with the foglight blanks too, Black grille would work I think, but would it be too stufagti stylee?
Engine bay also looks great.. As always though :)

looks awesome mate, love it - never noticed the boot clips either

i'd leave the grill red i think, looks perfect as it is. Was there a RR result from after the remap at all? or just opinions on how it feels after? big improvement?

also, wasn't losing the strut brace goin a bit far with the weight saving given it's a track slag?! :P

red grill for deffo, looks awesome as it is!

front strut brace wont ft with the castor mod

must have cracked 200hp with my fog blanks surely?!

lol, thanks guys.

Yeah the strut brace wont fit, but i may leave it off as i`m trying to loosen the front end to gain a bit more oversteer....we`ll see how the track day goes in a few days.

No more rescent dynos, although it`s next on my list.

Going to get the tracking done tomorrow, and a full alignment check, corner weighting and maybe a rear beam bend at a later date here:http://www.centergravity.co.uk/index.cfm

Dale, protectors....they`re a must on the track with the amount of shit that gets thrown up. Purely practical.

Thanks mate. Doing Curborough sprint track, it`s only dinky but should be a laugh ( + its only 5 mins away! ). Its just the cost of slicks and semi slicks that puts me off Kurt. I think T1Rs are the best comprimise.

Looks so purposeful Ian, awesome :D. Will be good to hear feedback from you from the track on the BC's :)

You kept it Quiet that your coming to curborough Ian :D
I look forward to seeing this in the flesh, and meeting the legend that is, yourself.
Joe
