N16 SR16VE

yeah that's what I was planning anyway bud, post was just for others opinions, tbh willie has had a ph2 splitter sitting since we first posted about this that could have been put on ages ago had I wanted to, and i almost have a couple of times during my really long wait for good condition reasonably priced ph1 splitter ;)

tbh I don't know why Nissan didn't offer a rear splitter for the n16 as stock, but its not too bad i suppose as the n15 ones fit with little modification and both look really good, and I'm certain more will follow rich :)

some goodies have arrived from Ireland (thanks Dylan!) so I'll post some updates when I get home, and I wish tts or rotrex could take 2 minutes to answer one of my bloody emails as it will determine my projects path and I can't really move on till I know!! :wall:

Yes basically Ross.

Nissan did offer an option rear splitter. It was the MS Designs kit. The only problem is finding the part numbers.

If I give you my chassis number will FAST show you the part numbers? Or is it unlikely that the details are updated to the chassis no.?

ross only the good bits ie: sr** engines, 5f32v gearbox and the rear splitters ;):tt2:

liam with the chassis number it will show me all options it was delivered with, so if that kit was on it at delivery to the dealer it will be shown, worth a punt i think, wait you could do it yourself as you have fast now bud :)

ok well it looks like my camera has taken its own life so verbal updates only for now. so now I'm ok financially again phase 2 of this project is now in motion, firstly we pulled the rear axle off Stevens old n16 as it has a disc rear brake setup and mine is currently drums, that is in the process of being de-rusted and hammerited, and having the poly bushes fitted along with an adjustable sr link. the calipers are being fully rebuilt and then put back in place with primera carriers and 279mm rear discs. I have new front bottom arms en route and they will receive the hammerite and poly bush treatment too.

for the suspension i had bought a set if daiyama coilies but I think I'm going to sell them on and get a set of meisters instead.

then I will get some brackets made up for my sumitomo 4 pots (which are also being refurbed) along with redrilled discs either 296 or 310mm for the front brakes, that will finish up the suspension and brakes.

I also have bought a 20ve block from Dylan, along with 2l rods, crank, crank girdle, ve oil pump. this will be sent away for cleaning, pressure testing and boring out to suit 88mm pistons, this will be put back together with acl bearings and uprated rod bolts, and a 4cw crank thats coming from rick, the pistons/cr will be decided on once I get some info regarding the suitability of almerasleeper/pauls supercharger for my expected power output, as I can't decide until I know if I'm going forced induction or NA.

the head will receive a mild port and Polish, uprated springs and retainers and the n1 cams we have sitting.

the exhaust will most likely be a b18 tri-y manifold modified to fit the ve with a mazworks ve exhaust flange, joined to a custom Billy 2 3/4" or 3" catback.

that's about it for now, I'll update more when I get a new camera and as the work progresses, it should all be finished up by April next year, then I can start on my assault of ed's cracking n16 1/4 mile time :shades:

thanks Paul, and shouldn't that be 've'va

sorry guys I guess reading my post back that I didn't make it clear, piston size and compression ratio will be decided once I decide if going n/a or f/I, if f/I 87mm will be the max I'll go for, taking in mind that the supercharger will only be pullied for about 8psi Max.

kilcosdc there is no off the shelf 88mm ve headgasket as yet but I will most likely get a 87mm vet gasket punched out to suit, or speak to cometic about modifying their 88mm det gasket to suit, failing that the mazworks big bore headgasket is another (albeit costly) option.

mov send some pics of it to my email bud, as the one I'm after is only available on eBay us and shipping is going to be about $140! hopefully you have the type I'm after :shades:
