haha sweet phil im surprised the wind hasnt knocked the car off those axle stands yet lol

heh you think that's bad, should are the way we left it sitting after raping the parts from it lol.

anyway like I said my wheel hub was fookered, so we went and grabbed a knuckle off of 'that' mera,

and the replacement

we then went about swapping them round doing our utmost not to damage the brand new wheel bearing we fitted yesterday, which we managed I'm glad to say, and while it has taken most of the slack away unfortunately there is still some left, so either the steering knuckle is also damaged, or they've given us the wrong wheel bearing! I'm thinking its the prior but i'll find out for sure tomorrow :-/

damo its all back together mate and still wobbling as phil said its knuckle or wrong bearing we have been given :(. yeah Aberdeen and shire council seem to love putting tons of salt on the road that as we live on the north east coast right next to the north sea lol

Close, but no cigar eh. Hope you manage to sort it soon dude.

cheers bud, bit of a pain but as its the first thing to go wrong since the swap I really can't complain :)

The joint will tighten up the bearing when fitted.

My god the rust ye guys have to deal with on everything. must be torture

yeah I know that bud, and as willie said there is still movement with the hubnut done to the proper torque setting, but as i said before it can now only be one of two things, wrong bearing or the knuckle is also damaged.

yeah its a royal pain, especially when it comes to dealing with bolts/nuts that haven't been touched since the car was built, can turn an hour job into a 6 hour nightmare :(

Damn you Liam (Goose or Rainbow Dash ) whichever you are I need an aerial base too as the car wash broke my sparco one off and I've not got round to sorting it yet :(

What was wrong with the old red one (I haven't read the whole thread)

New one i epic though just needs some decent wheels (Personally I'd go for the Kendo's with a silver lip) :D

Ryan I told you I have one from my car as I am using the Shark fin, but as we didn't head back to mine after the yard I was unable to get it for you. Next time your local etc we can sort something out ok m8?

that's an answer best left in aoc folklore, suffice to say it's fooked.

yeah its not bad as it is, considering it's only a 1.6 and the n16 is a heavier chassis it still posted quicker 1/4 mile times than a few n15 gti's last year, and once the rebuild is finished I plan on embarrassing a few more lol. heh you cheeky bugger, I have lots of nice wheels for it, including the mega light ssr's it's running just now :p
