i've fixed it cause i was bored last week. if they wanna argue then can poke it...

i got the paperwork saturday so i need to send it back to start the process...

Arseholes mate! i did get nearly a grand for mine so im sure youll get more than that, With the VIC check you can drive the car around before the VIC has been done you just cant sell it properly, and there is no need to get a new MOT either and you can still tax it too i was told all the oposite but asked DVLA themselves and aslong as the car apears to be in a road worthystate (looks) then it can be driven, also if its out of tax you can drive it to the test center and back without tax

Just a few helpful tips for ya mate lol

Mike

as said before all you'll need to do is strip it, grease it, replce the brushes if needs be and it will be as good as new, as long as both sets of coils and the solenoid are fine it will be as good as new.

in fact it's possible that you might just need to sand down the commutator as the brushes might be fine and the commutator pitted/corroded.

Just wondering what are your plans with the tailgate, as the GTi type spoiler is usually stuck down well with lots of silicone.. Dont think im gona be able to fit my N1 spoiler without a respray as not sure going to be able to remove all glue etc without damaging the paintwork??

Any news from insurance company yet? or agreed a value

Alan's right Eddie. Talk to Leigh and Mike. They've both had the work done that's needed to go from GTi spoiler to N1 spoiler.
