Eddie's SRi

How much to cutt ad section of the boot floor out and weld in a new one? I could replace boot-lid easily enough myself.. lights are intact and so its plate surround lol! Its the tyrewell thats crumped and absorbed impact quite well!

£500? You having a laugh even if a garage would do it i reckon it would cost way way over £1000 at least! Buy it back with the money you get buy another one and swap bits over.

That's got to be a new rear panel, boot floor, tailgate and chassis leg end sections. The term is uneconomical repair ie the repair is going to cost more than the car is worth but it's still repairable. It needs putting on a jig, pulling and measuring. It'd be a two day job to get straight. It's doable though. Be a nice project.

Put your old pads and discs on.

If the mods are declared they'll be looking for them I would expect. Rear lights and body kit is standard parts though so you may get away with that. Else buy the car back for cheap and get another shell with the rest of the money then swap it all over :).

lol Ammar we had the same idea.

Thats what Id like to do sure, but I dont wana have the car bought off me then they take my mods n sell em at scrapies I would like opportunity to buy it back straight away. Being 100% non fault I should be able to dictate the outcome? I can refused said offer or wait at least to decide. Thing is a Mint gti is gona cost a fair bit :osama:

Really sorry to see this mate!!!

glad your alright!!

its not worth trying to repair the shell mate...

there will be another GTi with your name on it somewhere!!

its her fault! her insurance must fix your car!!!

I wish it worked like that, if the cost of repair outweigh's value of the car they will pay the lesser value i.e pay me out with market value of my car. I dont know if my legal team could argue its ecomomical to repair my car? Or im emotionally scared if it doesnt get fixed? :balloon:

Sorry to hear/see this Eddie, glad your ok though. It just unfortunate all the hassle that it caused by it all.

Also Ross, where were you today between the hours of 12 and 4???????? That looks like it could be an RR motor???:clown:

oh this is not good... in Cyprus i thing if it's your fault your insurance has to fix the car that you crash on!

I'm a panel beater by trade. It's going to be £900 labour through a bodyshop plus paint and panels so it's a £1400 plus job if it's as and as it looks. I'll get some rough panel costs tomorrow for you. If you can get someone to do a contract repair, so you pay a fixed price, you may save yourself some money which you can ask your insurance about. Get them to
give you the figures on repair cost versus the value of the car and make a judgement there. We've had customers spend £600 of their money towards the repair just to get the car back. If you want to keep it remember you're the customer and don't take no for an answer!

Oh shit dude! What a dumb bitch!!!!!! These things happen mate glad your ok. If you end up buying it back or whatever and selling stuff off you know who to call lol :D
