Ive been given a hirecar, since I need to get to work etc, so having to go through insurrance :cowboy:

She said she was hard up as it was dont know where shed spring a grand from probably cheaper for her to take hit on insurrance?
 
Well after doing some research myself the cost of new bootfloor/end panel is £420 inc Vat ... labour for cutting and fitting bending bashing resculpting is going to be £500 easy.

Costing well over a grand to fix... in short this is an end to this Almera's life

i am very sorry for your car because it has an sentimental value to you, and agry at the same time for the english law!!!!!!!!
so everyone in UK who has an Almera must pay attention his back not to crash him because they will not fix it??????????
 
You turnip, just crawil in to the back to get the VZR's off.. Take your coilovers, struts EVERYTHING OFF

Everything is declared though, they had engineer look at it this morning was gone within two or three minutes noticed he took snap of the tax disc and check tyres to be road legal and took pictures of the damage and went on his merry way.

The VZR centres are held on by two bolts not accesible at present as the two surfaces are butted over the bolts. Need to separate the boot from the body to get them off
 
So should I just strip my car on my driveway of all parts even before the assessors final decision, once I take all bits off it it wont be drivable it will have to be dragged off the driveway. Would they be happy to collect it like that? Ive tried asking my insurance company before and the assessor was in and out so quick I didnt really have breath to ask about process's etc
 
Grow some balls and bleat questions at him next time.
If I were you id be doing my best to get hold of standard parts like steelies with tyres, standard dampers etc to at least allow the car to be driven.
 
Easier said then done though when I dont have any money to buy extra parts to replace standard bits with though, Ill speak to my insurance company tomorrow and call the assessor. Besides bastard decides to come 2 hours earlier then he said he was going to. Ill find out if I need to spend extra monies to replace with standard parts, or they can accept car ready to be scrapped!
 
yo I got standard GTI shocks which had gmax springs....yours for the cost of postage if ya want em...

I will keep this in mind bud, I havent exactly been through this situation before so I dont fully know what my options are. Ill be throttling info out of insurrance/engineer tomorrow though
 
You haven't been through this situation before. Ok, perfectly understandable, but there are others who have and know the game, LISTEN TO THEM. NOT, i will ask the assessor, and when he comes you don't have the balls to ask him anything!
 
Thats what im saying, Im inocent party here with mods declared I felt I had nothing to hide. And dont really have stuff to put back once Ive taken parts off the car. So should I strip to shell even before any final verdict of cars future is reached? Just abit of explaining as to why rather then 'STRIP NOW'

if i were you right now i would be taking a few days leave from work, find a local scrap yard with a pov spec almera in it.. get the front and rear bumpers suspention and wheels load them into my hire car strip everything out of that shell id even have the engine gearbox and driveshafts throw the standard suspention on and the steels the bumpers ect then let them come and collect the rolling shell

this has nothing to do with hiding anything and everything to do with keeping your nice shit and not letting it go to some grubby salvage yard where it will be damaged whilst they hoof the shell around with a forklift..

end of the day your cars scrap unless your prepaied to make it a race car and cut the fucker up and just put some square section tubing in and some ally sheet for a boot.. save your bits now or loose them.. its your coice..
 
as per usual Ed you have been given all the correct advise but you still insist on asking moar questions than are needed...... you ARE going to loose parts if you dont get your act together.... especially if I find out what scrap yard it goes too :whistling:

Since im going through insurrance wanting to make sure im getting a payout, but since I dont have the cash to buy replacement parts im trying to assertain if they will accept the car 'third party' Insurrance as just a shell to payout a revised fee. Stripping it to barebons isnt an issue but getting replacement parts at short notice without money is. But if I have to then where there's a will there's a way. There's been no talk of a payout figure let alone if the cars being scraped just yet. If they wont accept a car minus certain parts then ill have to visit scrap yard and raid parts into hirecar :detective:

Well if im gona be paid out fuck all I want to know if I have to replace with stock parts etc before I start taking shit off. As I dont wana have to spend extra unless I have too. Or if they can exept just a shell as its gona get scrapped anyway.
